Westin Surabaya is a beautiful property with gorgeous views and amenities and impeccable service to match. The pool and surrounds are pleasant for swimming. The Club room is very comfortable, quiet and feels fresh all round. The heavenly bed is such a delight to sleep in. The Club lounge is one of the most outstanding hotel lounges I have frequented. The views from the 39th floor are divine whether day or night. Service levels in the Club lounge are impeccable from each and every staff member.. so welcoming, professional with beautiful hospitality. Food selection, drinks and comfort all round. Nila and all of her lovely colleagues are truly at an inspiring level of excellence.

Baobab Safari Resort is located quite far from Surabaya city centre, but it is definitely worth the approximately 1-hour drive from Surabaya Airport. We booked two connecting rooms, both with balconies. We were assigned to Level 4, and the view was absolutely magnificent, overlooking Mount Arjuno and Mount Welirang. Waking up to the mountain scenery was truly refreshing. Cooling weather, fresh air and beautiful scenery. Food Experience The highlight of the meals was the Nasi Rawon. The beef was very tender—soft and melt-in-the-mouth—and the soup was rich and flavourful. The portion size was generous. Other food items were acceptable but nothing particularly outstanding. For breakfast, however, the buffet spread was rather limited, especially in terms of meat and protein options. Room & Amenities The room itself looked decent but slightly dated. That said, the beautiful view more than compensated for it. One important note: do stock up on your own bottled water before arriving. The hotel uses refillable glass bottles, and unfortunately, the wooden covers of the glass containers appeared very mouldy, which was quite off-putting. Activities & Environment There are plenty of activities available. A walk through the Enchanted Forest thats full of pine trees and feeding area for Capybara, Lama, Sheep is possible, though you’ll need to take a buggy from another area. The Safari Zoo is located separately but can be arranged by the hotel. Animals around the hotel can be fed according to scheduled timings. Waterbucks, however, can be fed with carrots 🥕, which were provided by the hotel on the day of check-in. The lobby and dining areas were a standout—beautifully designed and facing the roaming animals while still maintaining a safe boundary within their designated area. Animal Welfare I have always been quite sceptical about zoo animals in Indonesia due to past negative experiences, where animal welfare did not seem well cared for. However, Baobab Safari Resort truly changed my perspective. The environment is clean, the animals appear well fed, and I frequently saw zookeepers actively present in the animal areas, feeding hay and grass to the zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, and giraffes. It was reassuring and heartening to see such care and commitment. This experience made me believe that proper education and responsible management really do help build a better environment for zoo animals. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable stay for my family.

Recepcionist helpfull, ramah murah senyum. Makanan enak, kebersihan okeh. Hotel nyaman dan ramah utk anak2. So far so good. Recomended hotel bintang 4😊

Lokasi memang cukup jauh, aksesnya masih terbatas karena masih baru dan saat kesana belum grand opening. Pelayanannya sangat luar biasa, para staf tidak sungkan untuk meminta kritik dan saran secara langsung dengan pelanggan. Fasilitas dimasa mendatang akan lebih banyak karena masih dalam tahap pembangunan. Tapi untuk view dari kamar hotel sangat bagus di malam hari dan pagi hari. Restonya juga enak masakannya.

This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste. The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget. I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution. But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby. I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.

Đây là một khách sạn tuyệt vời với dịch vụ hiếu khách xuất sắc, hầu hết nhân viên đều nhiệt tình giúp đỡ và bạn có thể cảm thấy an toàn khi lưu trú tại đây. Lễ tân cũng rất hữu ích và cung cấp tất cả thông tin cần thiết. Phòng rất sạch sẽ và tất cả các chức năng đều hoạt động tốt. Cảm giác lưu trú giống như ở nhà vậy. Các tiện nghi của khách sạn cũng rất tốt và dễ sử dụng. Đây là một kỳ nghỉ đáng giá.

The hotel is quite good and relatively cheap. I just want to highlight some of the things that can be improved easy and quick. One of those is the double secured lock that is broken in the door. It make the stay a little bit unsecured. It only have one lock, the chain lock is broken.

Hotel’s ambience is relaxing. Ocean is at the hotel’s backyard with huge greeneries, coconut trees, and simply beautiful.  Breakfast spread is not bad, the taste is so so. Swimming pool is infinity style and quite big. There is also gym in the hotel.  Room is small, bed is only 100 x 200 for twin. Separate toilet and shower room which size is in the smallish end. Balcony is quite big so you could sit down and enjoy reading. If you want to go with family, book enough room as there is no extra bed except in suites (sofa bed style).  As it is near the ocean, it could be windy.  You need car/transport to go around as it is not exactly in the city centre.  Good place to relax if you happen to be in East Java.

The location is just off the main street running through Malang, makes the hotel less affected by traffic noise. One of the minor drawbacks of this hotel is the lobby drop off area and minimal availability of parking onsite. The friendliness and helpful customer service can be felt as you step into the hotel, from the security to the receptionist and workers all radiating warm smiles. Our check in process was smooth, we were assisted to find an available room for early check-in before 1pm . The restaurant staff was also attentive and courteous. The hotel felt relatively new, only a couple years old and in great shape. The bedroom had semi firm but comfortable mattrass, with abundant pillows. Delightfully we got a 55” LG Smart Tv, with the to-date streaming services available (Netflix, Disney, Prime, Vidio, Youtube) and also cable tv showing international channels (AXN, Japanese, Arabic, etc). The room felt very cosy for resting after a long day's work or travel. The bathroom, although only had showers and no bathtub, gave great water pressure and hot water. The only complaint from the hotel is perhaps due to the connecting door, we can hear the other room's door closing and opening loudly as well as some talking from the other room. Hotel had an interesting gym for good workout, rooftop cafe/restaurant. Didnt try any of those facilities for this trip but hopefully for my next trip. This is my second stay at 101 and look forward to returning again. Also, right across the hotel is a Sara Bakery, which serves good cakes and bakery products, and has a full restaurant menu also.
