Quirky place with loads of rustic character. Your experience will depend greatly on what room you get. We traveled with a tour group; many of us got rooms with exotic decor and newly renovated bathrooms. A few of us got more boring rooms with dated interiors and old bathrooms. (These seemed to be clustered near the pool.) Ask for a room with character and a newer bathroom. Our room, 815, was separated into two rooms: a small bedroom and a sitting room with two chairs and a TV. The walls were stone, and there was only one small window, which was in the sitting room. The window opened to let in the breeze, which was welcome. You could hear people walking past, but other than that the room was quiet. Oh, except for the mosque next door, which woke us up before dawn every day. The food was fine, breakfast and dinner buffets of mostly Mediterranean dishes. We were advised not to drink the tap water, and bottled water is expensive so try to bring some of your own. We were given two bottles with the room each day. If you have mobility issues, I strongly recommend finding another place to stay. There are many uneven stone steps up and down throughout this resort, and the steps often do not have railings. In the evening, there is an open air plaza that is a fun place to socialize. There’s a small fountain and different sitting areas, including one with a fire pit. Also a grumpy camel if you want to take a short ride. We would definitely return and stay here again.
