"The room is very big and clean. Wide range of facilities. Reception gentlmen are quite helpful and can speak Eng well. Just 5-10 min walk to Ragistan Square and 3-5 min walk to the BibiHanim Musjid. Just remember to ask the hotel of Taxi drop off spot in advance. Because it's located in the tourist walking street, cars are forbbiden."

It feels peaceful and authentic while still being very convenient for sightseeing. The courtyard is beautiful and traditional, with a charming and authentic design that reflects the local culture. Our room was very large and spacious, easily accommodating three guests. It was beautifully decorated, well heated, and also equipped with air conditioning. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices, which is always appreciated while traveling. The bathroom was spacious and included a large bathtub and a western-style toilet. Free drinking water is available in the basement kitchen area, though guests need to bring their own bottles or cups. One thing we especially appreciated was the generosity of the staff. We explained that we had booked a night train departing after midnight and asked if a later check-out would be possible. They kindly offered us a much later check-out so we could relax and freshen up before heading to the station. We truly appreciated this flexibility. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay and treated us like part of their family. Breakfast was also very good. The dishes were local, freshly made, filling, and delicious. A couple small notes for future guests: the toilet paper may not meet Western European standards, so you may wish to be prepared. Also, the beds are quite firm. If you are a side sleeper, the firmness may take some adjustment. Aside from these minor points, the rest of our stay was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel for its location, authentic atmosphere, and the incredible service from the entire staff."

Excellent location, generous service, and authentic charm near Registan. We stayed at Shahram Plus SH for one night, with a short extension, and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent. It is in a quiet local neighborhood, just a short walking distance from Registan Square, the mausoleums, and the nearby bazaar. It feels peaceful and authentic while still being very convenient for sightseeing. The courtyard is beautiful and traditional, with a charming and authentic design that reflects the local culture. Our room was very large and spacious, easily accommodating three guests. It was beautifully decorated, well heated, and also equipped with air conditioning. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices, which is always appreciated while traveling. The bathroom was spacious and included a large bathtub and a western-style toilet. We absolutely loved this hotel. It's location is great and the staff are amazing especially the front desk. There is no lift but the reception staff helped us with the bags. We paid for a more premium room but it was on level 3 so we asked to be changed to room on a lower level and it was great. The Georgian restaurant inside the hotel is amazing. The food is great and the staff were amazing. Will definitely stay there again.

We are so happy and satisfied with this hotel until the day we checked out. We were accused of taking the laundry bag which is worth 300k Uzbek SUM. I went up with 2 staff and it turned out it was in the drawer all the time (the funny thing is I never even touched it.) I don’t blame these 2 staff as I know it is their responsibility to make sure nothing was missing/stolen (though next time it would be appreciated if they can check it more thoroughly.) What truly pissed me off is the attitude from another female staff at the reception named Zarifa. From the moment we checked out, she just looked grumpy and when my friend said “we never used it”, she reacted with “I am sure you did” in a very rude way! Even later on, it turned out to be in the drawer in the room, she was not even apologetic (the other 2 staff at least said “sorry for the mistake.” This is one of the 2 five star hotels in Samarkand and I just hope what we paid at this hotel is equivalent to the amount of respect you show to your customers. The hotel really NEEDS to put more training in your staff’s service. By the way, we had a really nice chat with another staff named “Firdav” at the first floor bar (if I remember his name correctly, he is tall and bit skinny). He had worked in Hilton for 2 years and the professionalism and politeness he demonstrated is just another level. PLEASE LEARN FROM HIM THAT HOW A STAFF AT 5 STAR HOTEL SHOULD BEHAVE AND TREAT THEIR GUESTS!!

Khách sạn tuyệt vời! Vị trí thuận tiện – chỉ cách Quảng trường Registan và các điểm tham quan chính của Samarkand vài bước chân, với rất nhiều quán cà phê và nhà hàng. Buổi tối, có một màn trình diễn ánh sáng tuyệt đẹp gần Quảng trường Registan. Nhân viên khách sạn rất thân thiện và nhiệt tình. Chúng tôi nhận phòng muộn vào đêm khuya, và một nhân viên đã chào đón chúng tôi, làm thủ tục nhận phòng và giải thích mọi thứ. Khách sạn được trang trí rất đẹp. Phòng được dọn dẹp hàng ngày và mọi thứ đều sạch sẽ. Bữa sáng tự chọn rất ngon. Tuy nhiên, thực đơn hơi hạn chế, vì vậy tốt nhất nên đến sớm, tốt nhất là trước 9 giờ sáng.

Location: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination. My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea. Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints. On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.

After a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.

From the moment I arrived, the host made me feel completely at home — super kind, always smiling, and genuinely helpful with tips about where to go and how to get around. It didn’t feel like just checking into a hostel, more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The breakfast every morning was such a treat. Fresh, tasty, and prepared with care — the kind of breakfast that actually makes you look forward to waking up early. It gave me the perfect energy to start exploring the city. The location couldn’t have been better. It’s right in a very convenient spot, close enough to walk to the main sights but still in a peaceful area where you can relax after a busy day. I loved being able to step out and reach Samarkand’s incredible landmarks so easily. Overall, Old Radio Hostel has such a cozy, warm vibe. Between the amazing host, the delicious food, and the perfect location, it really felt like a home away from home. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable and authentic stay in Samarkand — I’d definitely stay here again!
