Was a convenient location and check in was easy. However, there was difficulty with the room keys. I entered the room left my purse and one key in the room went out to my car for luggage - entered at the rear door using the key. However, the key failed to work for my room. Had to go to the desk and have a new set of keys made. This happened again the next day as well, however, that time the on call clerk said it frequently happens when using the rear door. If they know it happens why not fix it or warn the client in advance. This was very stressful. The room itself was extremely disappointing. It was supposed to sleep 3 adults yet it contained only a queen size bed and a window ledge. No couch, roll away nothing. The sitting area was non existent. Your options were the bed, the window ledge or a straight back wood desk chair. Not at all comfortable. The television was smaller than my computer monitor definately not more than a 24”. Even though all advertisements stated a refrigerator in the room there was not one. Which meant I was unable to keep any cold drinks in my room. The breakfast was an even bigger joke - cold hard boiled eggs were available one day, cold cereal, very limited fruit if you were not there early there was none it was not refilled. Donuts were prepackaged and old. Was not anything available that was at all desirable. I knew there was not a pool or exercise room which I did not expect however, for 100 a night in Delphos, OH I expected more. I had a handicapped room as I have 2 artificial knees and occasionally have difficulity with low toliets and tubs. The room showed handicapped on the exterior door however, the toliet was low and there was not a shower but a tub you had to step into. I spent 3 nights and the only maid service I received was towel replacement - the bed was not made and I do not believe the vaccum was ran. One day I someone had left their pass key in my room along with a roll of wastepaper bags. I took it to the desk and told the clerk I thought #6 would be looking for their keys in the morning. Not a thank or any sense of concern. I entered the lobby at various times of the day and evening and I don't believe I EVER saw anyone sitting at the desk just a sign that read ring bell for service. They were not even in the office directly behind the desk. To say I was disappointed would be putting it mildly I can assure you I will not be returning to this facility or any other Microtel in the future. Stay away it is definetly worth an additional 20-30 to get an indoor pool, hot breakfast, king size bed, comfortable chair as well as an adjustable desk chair with a refrigerator and microwave in your room which you did not get here. Stay in Van Wert at the Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn express.

It was a nice place to stay they were very friendly and accommodating when the electricity went out. Would stay there again.

The morning of me having to check out, there wasn’t any breakfast? Thought they had free breakfast every night but other than that it was aight

The positive things:  Great customer service- nice, friendly, great hospitality workers/associates- close to everything ( stores, restaurants, gas stations, churches, parks, etc…  has heated pool, breakfast area, a lot of parking area. The negative things: The hotel needs fixing-  pool keypad is broken- you will need an associate to come and open the pool door also they need to tint the pool windows area so people from outside won’t see you swimming because the window is wide open. In my room 316 the fan in the bathroom wasn’t working, the bathroom floor water was coming out, idk why, maybe a leak? The heater panel was broken and coming off, carpet needs a good cleaning, hallway smells like smoke/cigarettes, you hear cars outside, police’s, ambulances, traffic noises and also you hear kids or people walking in the hallway or next to your room- so it’s not sound proof. I wanted to stay another night but the price was too expensive over $100 so I passed.

The check-in was a disaster from the start. We arrived 45 mins after check-in time and our room wasn't ready. While the clerk was friendly it's unacceptable that our room wasn't ready AFTER check-in time. She was apologetic and seemed distressed about the situation but still doesn't help with the fact that our room wasn't ready. The clerk asked if we minded moving to another floor instead of the one assigned. Ok, stuff happens. BUT when we get to the room that she moved our stay to it smelled worse than any room I've ever been in. Smelled like pure sulfur and the carpets were questionable at best. The beds looked like they had just been remade. Went to desk to try and get another room. Stood there for almost 30 minutes and no clerk. Go back to the room and waited. Went back to desk and just as we are getting to the desk no one is at desk again as the clerk is disappearing around the corner. Stood and waited another 15-20 and no.clerk. We finally gave up and brought our own blankets in from the car and slept on top of the provided sheets and blankets. Pretty disappointing out of a Hampton to say the least. Never in my life have I had this experience with a Hampton and to be frank I probably won't return. I paid a substantial amount for this room and the experience has soured me on returning.

Hotel in decent condition but not new

I can not say enough good things about this place. Not only are they the nicest staff but the rooms are amazing clean smell clean and a very big note. TRIP booking is very ery either outdated or it's staff are the dullest. Twi e i have been booked at the wrong Hotel by Trip staff. This last time not only was ot wrong but the address to the hotel is listed wrong. I had such a terri le time with support getting a room correctly and charged correctly the Hotel Night Manager took my phone and had to get the situation correct be abuse the same thing over and o er was trying to happen with mind u no refunds no help and told I was ignorant a 3 hour wait for TRIP support to still not help fix the issue they created but it was now 3am. That manager not I ly got my room but gave me a free upgraded suite for all the trouble I had been caused not to mention the now mess they had since bookings were going to the wrong hotel under their name. It was a nightmare for the second but this Hotel and staff are by far the best I have ever had the pleasure to meet. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I enjoyed my stay, and also it was very convenient for my situation.
