Our recent stay at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru was truly magical. We were visiting to celebrate two very special milestones: our 5th wedding anniversary and our youngest daughter’s 1st birthday. Before our arrival, I reached out to the resort to share our situation, hoping for a smooth stay with two young children. Ezmareena Ismail (Nurish) responded promptly, ensuring that the resort was well aware of our needs. Upon check-in, a gentleman named Jordan (if I recall correctly) went above and beyond by upgrading our room to better accommodate the extra bed we requested for the kids. The surprises didn't stop there. When we entered the room, we were deeply moved to find a thoughtful letter and beautiful flowers prepared by the staff to celebrate our anniversary. It was a heartwarming gesture that made us feel truly valued. Throughout our stay, Melania kept in constant touch via text messages to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. Thanks to the incredible staff and their genuine hospitality, our family had a blissful and memorable holiday. I cannot recommend Shangri-La Tanjung Aru enough for anyone looking for an exceptional experience. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories!

Có một số loại hình thể thao dưới nước (lặn với ống thở và chèo thuyền miễn phí, không được phép câu cá và lặn sâu chỉ dành cho người có kinh nghiệm). Dịch vụ mát-xa tại spa kết thúc lúc 5 giờ chiều và không thể đặt trước. Nền nhà nghiêng. Chỉ có một nhà hàng và bạn không được mang theo đồ uống của riêng mình. Bữa sáng không phong phú và kết thúc vào lúc 10 giờ. Bạn có thể nhận phòng lúc 3 giờ chiều nhưng phải mất 2 giờ để đi thuyền đưa đón miễn phí đến khách sạn lúc 1 giờ chiều, điều này khá bất tiện. Những loại thuyền trả phí khác ra vào đảo đều đắt hơn. Không có phòng tập thể dục. Ngoài ra, còn có cá sấu 🐊 ở khu vực lặn biển. Chúng tôi đã nhìn thấy hai người trong số họ trong ba ngày. Đây không thể coi là bất lợi được, chỉ có thể gọi là số phận thôi, hahaha.

The resort is very easy to get to from Kota Kinabalu airport. Using the Grab app makes it convenient to call a car to take you to the Jesselton Point to catch the boat to the resort. The resort is quite beautiful and clean. Reading other reviews, I wasn’t quite sure why several had complaints about the price and food. The food was all excellent - fresh and reasonably priced. We ate at both specialty restaurants as well - Fisherman’s Cove and Omakase - and both were excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets had a lot of variety to choose from and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we loved the sea view from our terrace. The bathroom was well-equipped and spacious. The pool was very clean and there were plenty of sun chairs to choose from. The gift shop had many cute items. The spa is beautiful and the massage was amazing! What needs improvement - the bathtub in our villa was a bit dirty with some dead bugs. It’s fantastic that they offer a complimentary boat shuttle to the other bay near the marine center but it’s extremely littered with plastic. I asked the staff for a garbage bag and ended up collecting about 5 kg worth of garbage from the beach and sea. This should be the government policy or authorities responsibility - they need to clean it up and charge fines for littering. Overall, we loved this resort and wanted to stay longer. We definitely recommend staying here. I would like to specifically mention Aileen, Rozana, Nathaniel and Shadar for making our stay memorable and comfortable.

I had an amazing experience staying at a five-star hotel. The service was exceptional from the moment I arrived. The staff were very friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with a stunning view. The facilities such as the swimming pool, spa, and restaurants were world-class. The food was delicious and offered a wide variety of choices. Overall, it was a luxurious and comfortable stay that truly met the standards of a five-star hotel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a premium hotel experience.

I had a pleasant stay at your resort. The environment was peaceful and relaxing, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality.

Away from the city, wrapped in calm Quiet, private, and mostly visited by guests from Korea and China. Truly love this place highly recommended for privacy lovers. Definitely I will come again..thank you Karambunai Resort.

Thank you for providing an all-in-one environment for busy professionals like me. A place where I can work, meeting old friends, and at the same time allow my 3 boys to enjoy themselves safely. The availability of both a swimming pool and a small beach, with lifeguards on duty, gave me peace of mind throughout the day. the room was also clean and convinient for us also to enjoy beautiful morning sunrise. I was able to continue my work comfortably, spending time reading and writing on my laptop by the pool, surrounded by beautiful seaside scenery while watching my son playing. The experience was further enhanced by the availability of good food at the restaurant despite busy with customer, waitress e.g Ms Shamira and all were very helpful. Added with relaxing drinks in the evening while listening to live band performances, and quiet moments of healing by the beach, resting on the sofa with the sound of the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful, e.g Mr Alex and the team, who made our stay even more pleasant. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to come again.

Relaxing environment and good service esp. the credit shall go to the F&B team, though a bit pricey but the food quality is there. Snorkelling at the beach is a must go, if you stay here for a couple of days you may bypass the island hopping.
