St. Peter's College was originally established by the Bishop of Liverpool in 1929. It did not meet the standards of the College until 1961. It recognized women in 1979. It was part of a Georgian parish called Linton House, a medieval hospital that later became a lunatic asylum, particularly attractive to ponds and natural springs. The first British drowned in Antarctica was a student of the college.
One of Oxford's most admired colleges is that foreign students make fun of schools and pubs. Although they are not very famous and far from the city, their academic level is still good.
