Easy to book. Easy to check in. Peaceful. Free street parking. Open top bus stops outside for trip around lakes. Overall, great experience! Fully equipped clean kitchen available if needed. Near homegrown coffee shop that's serves great healthy breakfasts.

Comfortable stay with a great location at the city of windermere.

Room was on ground level next to sidewalk and traffic. Had a mold smell and was damp. Light fixtures had dust webs and missing lights. There was mold on top of the windows During the evening I killed a sliver fish in our bathroom

The worst stay anywhere never again ! Room clean but that’s as far as it goes noisy people upstairs in and out all night shouting ! To me reminded me of a hostel a poor one ! People coming in and out until 2 pm tv didn’t work sent message straight away zero reply . No one around to help avoid at all costs not worth the money ! Couldn’t find anyone on site to help

I booked this guest house for my mums birthday. My mums birthday was in February, unfortunately due to an accident I had. I wasn't able to do something nice for my mums 70th. I said to my mum we will go away for a few days My mum wanted to go to windermere for a few days. I booked this guest house only because I was either looking for a twin room, although we would have shared a double room if needs be. The room available was a family room, so I booked it. On arrival, we were greeted with the owner. Who showed us up to our room. Which was at the top of the building. I was worried about climbing the stairs, after my accident I hadn't climbed stars. However, I managed ok. The room was small, although it was clean. My mum took the double bed, and I took the single. On each side, if the double bed was bedside drawers. They wasn't anything next to the single bed. I had to put my cups of tea on the floor. They were an extension plug socket. To put your own charger in. In our room, they were a form we had to fill out and leave downstairs ready for breakfast the next morning. Even though we did this. They still couldn't get our breakfast right. They had to ask us what we wanted. I thought we had put down what we wanted. The tables were a bit close together, and I found it difficult to get in and out. When I wanted to get up to help myself to coffee or cereal. The guest house is on a main road, with a good open top hop on bus service. That runs every 20 minutes. It's a 25/ 30-minute walk to the lake. They are a few shops close by and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. The train station is a few minutes' walk away, with a bus station. If you fancy a bus ride to somewhere else. We didn't have a car so the bus to kendal. Made a change. If we go to windermere again, I would look at better hotels or guest houses. We enjoyed our few days at windermere and the weather was lovely

Would not recommend. Felt disappointed on arrival as first impressions - it felt more like a hostel. Very tired and unclean room. Hairs on bed and toilet seat. Tiny bathroom & shower. Only 3 parking spaces, which all were taken so nowhere for us to park. Overall not a nice, clean feel. We actually ended up finding a different place to stay less than an hour after checking in as just did not have a nice feel to this place unfortunately.

My partner and I have just spent a weekend at the Rayrigg Villa, utilising a hotel break voucher we received as a Christmas present. Pros -Great location -Great host Jane -Good breakfast - lovely sausage and bacon! Cons -Very tired property, wallpaper hanging off in breakfast room and not well papered in the first place -Property smelled slightly damp throughout, including our bedroom at the rear -Broken blind on our bedroom door, the glass isn’t completely frosted so this affected our privacy -Blinds very dusty which set off my allergies -A tradesperson working on the hotel tried to open our bedroom door when we were in the room!

This is a beautiful place to stay! the location is perfect- around 10 minutes walk from Windermere station (which also has access to buses to explore the rest of the lakes) and 20 minutes walk to Bowness. There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. Our room was beautiful, very clean and at the back of the building so also really private. The hosts were very accommodating and stored my bags before check in and breakfast was really good. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back. This hotel was awful. We stayed for 2 nights, the place was spotless but that's it. It had the feeling of a hostel and looked very tired and in need of TLC. The room was small and pokey. The dining room tables were way too close and it's not a comfortable feeling. You have to fill in a form to say what you want for breakfast so they have it in black and white, however, even with this they got my breakfast wrong on both days. Finally, and I'd give 1 star just for this. They had the stupidest parking system. Only enough room for 3 cars but parking spaces drawn out for 8 cars so that anymore than 3 people started blocking others in so if you wanted to get out you had to go hunting for the other drivers to move their cars... ridiculous

Very, very basic, clean B&B with friendly staff, but not the choice you would expect from the cost & 4* status. The room itself had a lovely comfy, but small double bed, a boxy en-suite and no space between the sink and shelf above to wash your face. The breakfast was ok, but the set menu didn’t give you much food on your plate and the texture of some items was odd and not very nice. There was a lack of choice for someone with dietary needs. The two ladies we met who were running the B&B were lovely and friendly and the location was convenient for walking between Windermere and Bowness.

I booked this hotel for me and my partner for our anniversary. Had to cancel due to a death and they would not give a refund or give any other option to change dates. Would not recommend these to anyone.
