The staff were wonderful! I left some valuable things in my room in the rush to leave on time and they sent them to me promptly!! Anyone staying here will find a friendly atmosphere! Also, everyone was helpful in pointing out some of the points of interest in the area!

Jetting into Osaka and picking up our rental car from the airport was a little delayed. We had dropped by the Rinku Outlet for a wee walk about before starting our drive to Nara. We had booked this hotel as it was newly opened and the family has a thing about newly opened hotels. The hotel is slightly out of the way and not located within central Nara so a car will be needed. It is located onsite a bus station but we hardly noticed the traffic. The hotel is located in a fairly secluded area and the air was fresh in the morning! The hotel is as you expect in a Fairfield Marriott. They had minimal staff 2-3 when we checked in and barely spoke English. They were very helpful and tried their best to communicate. There was not onsite restaurant but there were self service drinks station providing coffee and tea 24/7. We were looking for a place to have dinner and on the recommendations of the staff, we tried the Tonkatsu restaurant next door. Being tourists and having had Tonkatsu over the years in Singapore, I was not expecting much. However, there was a longish queue to get a table and I can understand why! The food was very very good! The Tonkatsu on offer was excellent ... it was crispy / juicy (I am even salivating thinking about the food!). There was no restaurant onsite at the hotel but they served a cute very "photogenic" breakfast bento set. It was sooooooooo lovely that the family refused to eat it! The rooms were clean and reasonably sized for Japan. There was free parking at the hotel carpark or at the front of the hotel (which technically does not belong to the hotel). A great start to our 2 week holiday and thanx to the team at the hotel for making the stay a great one!
