It's on the 4th floor of The Island Surf in South Kihei and within walking distance of many shops, deli's, beaches, restaurants, and bars. It looks out towards the east and the beautiful Haleakala volcano. Although I would highly recommend a rental car to explore the island, the studio's close location to many things makes it ideal for those who choose to not rent a car (walking score - 78).This 240 sq. ft. studio comes with a full bathroom, a beautiful new walk-in tiled shower, a very comfortable queen size bed, AC, ceiling fan, refrigerator, a microwave, 4 cup brew coffee maker, toaster, dishes glass ware and utensils. The Governor and Maui Mayor have emphasized that the rest of the island is still open for tourists to come and enjoy. Kihei has been unaffected. Vacationers are welcome to come and enjoy the South/Central and East part of the island that still has many spectacular places and fun things Maui has to offer. Governor Green has been on national TV recently advising that the best thing interested people can do to help the island recover is to come and vacation here and support our local businesses. Now after a year since the tragic fire, Lahaina has been cleared of the fire debris and the first homes are being rebuilt. New housing projects are underway and the fire victims are beginning to move in.The studio is located in The Island Surf Condominium and is zoned as Condo/Hotel and as such is NOT subject to any of the efforts to convert short term vacation rentals to long term rentals. WOW- discounted rates on the beach in N Kihei!! Stay with us while they continue the restoration efforts on the property from the Feb 2025 storm. The 4 oceanfront condos were damaged, but our condo and much of the common areas did not sustain any damage. In July, they have started the shoring and lifting of the damaged condos. Beach access has also been restored, giving our guests access to 5 miles of beach right in front of our property. Guest favorites – the Sugar Beach Bake Shop, Ululani’s Shave and ABC store are just a short walk down the beach. While the communal beach front patio area may be temporarily unavailable as work progresses, an additional propane BBQ has been added in the pool area, making 2 BBQs available for guest use. The pool is ready for a swim! This is a constantly evolving situation, but we will do our best to keep our guests updated as things progress. There is a separate A/C unit in both the bedroom and living room. A well equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals. Furnished lanai with a small, partial ocean view (exact view varies with landscaping maintenance) and lush tropical landscape is the perfect place to enjoy coffee, cocktails, dining or simply to enjoy the ocean breeze.There is a gated pool and two separate bbq areas, as well as a grassy lounge area by the beach. The beachfront lawn area has lounge chairs, umbrellas as well as tables for dining outside or to enjoy watching the incredible Maui sunsets or the Humpback whales as they frolic offshore (seasonal). These areas are shared with the other guests in this low-density complex (only 24 units total). Communal pay-to-use washer and dryers are available for guest use on the lower level of the complex.
