We had a really wonderful week at Hotel Gardenia from 14–21 July 2025. The hotel has a boutique feel, clearly designed with care - the cool marble floors and stylish décor give it a fresh, modern atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable with excellent air conditioning, a modern bathroom with a great shower, and a spacious balcony, The beds were also extremely comfortable, which made for a very relaxing stay. The pool was a generous size and never felt crowded, even in July, and the sunbathing garden beside it was a lovely tranquil spot, with a sea view. The poolside bar served incredible cocktails, which were a real highlight. The staff truly made our visit special. The breakfast team were especially warm and welcoming, quickly remembering our favourite morning drinks. The reception staff were outstanding - when we arrived, they were waiting for us with snacks and drinks in the lobby (a first for us!), and took time to explain the best local restaurants and points of interest around Sorrento. Tiziana, in particular, was a terrific cook and a constant presence around the hotel. She often offered delicious homemade appetisers and helped make the atmosphere feel personal and welcoming. The cleaning staff were also excellent, with rooms maintained to a high standard and an unexpected evening turndown service that was a nice touch. The hotel is well located, just a flat 20-minute walk from the centre of town - far enough to be peaceful but close enough to enjoy Sorrento’s energy. The management clearly take pride in the hotel and were receptive to any suggestions, creating a feeling of genuine hospitality. If you need a private transfer, to or from the airport, let the hotel know in advance and they will kindly arrange this for you with Seduction Vacanze, a travel company with whom they have a long-standing relationship. You can then be confident of a smooth, punctual journey, and a safe driver, with a trusted and experienced local provider. If you’re wondering where to stay in Sorrento - just book it. You will be exceptionally well looked after here.

Me and my family had a weeks holiday to celebrate my brother’s 50th birthday and mine. We very much enjoyed are stay at the hotel. Lovely rooms, view was fantastic, Everything was clean, Breakfast was lovely and the food and drinks were excellent. The staff were amazing. A special mention to Tiziana who was very welcoming, She does the cooking which is fantastic and makes fantastic cocktails as well. I would certainly stay at the hotel again. And it’s within a short distance to the main town.

We have just returned home after a week here. We had a very comfortable stay. The rooms and whole hotel are immaculately presented and are kept very clean at all times. Beds very comfy and quality bed linen and pillows. The breakfast catered for many tastes and was always fresh and tasty. It was very relaxing unlike some busier hotels we have stayed in. The staff were very accommodating, we stayed on the front of the hotel overlooking the main road so I did have to use ear plugs but the soundproofing was very good, I am very sensitive to noise. Pool area lovely and relaxing. Would highly recommend and would stay again. 15-20 minute walk to the town centre.

We had a beautiful meal last night cooked by the lovely Tiziana at hotel gardenia in sorrento. Tiziana is very welcoming and can't do enough for you. I would highly recommend having a meal at the hotel gardenia. The restaurant has a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Just home from Sorrento after a family wedding and it was a superb week. We stayed at Hotel Gardenia and i have to say it is such a well run, small family feel hotel which is only a 10 minute walk to the main square area. The rooms were fabulous and beds comfortable with great aircon, a nice balcony and a great bathroom and shower. They were cleaned immacualtely each day and the ladies were so nice and friendly and nothing a problem. There was a safe in each room, again FOC was gave you peace of mind. From checkin with Guiseppe (gent) to small snacks and dinner presented by Tiziana, everythings was great. Breakfast provided a good selection of hot and cold food and breads with lovely strong coffee to put you on your way. The reception staff always dealt with any issues in a quick and friendly manner as did the management. The pool area was shared with the hotel next door but there was always plenty of beds and room for everyone with nice snacks and drinks available. The pool temperature was perfect and cleaned daily, the hotel supplied towels FOC fro the duration. For me the only let down which didn't really bother me as the rooms were so soundproofed was the noise of cars and scooters from 8am-12pm all day everyday. so if you sat out on your balcony it was noisy, however, all the rest of the experience more than over shadowed this. We have been travelling throughout Italy and best place to stay in SORRENTO is Hotel Gardenia! Staff are friendly and very helpful with any information you require! This is a truly elegant and comfortable hotel! Everything was spotless, stylish, and welcoming. The staff was absolutely fantastic, friendly, helpful, and professional. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

We reserved two rooms for our stay as a family of 5. The hotel itself is very nice. Breakfast is excellent with a very attentive staff. While we were there, there were ants in both the rooms we reserved. There is a written warning about bringing food into the rooms that could attract ants. Nobody in our party brought in any food ever. Something needs to be done about it. All websites say it is a ten minute walk to the centre. It’s more like 20 minutes which is fine if you’re a good walker. Otherwise, great hotel.

Beautiful hotel with GREAT staff!!! Especially Tiziana! Assisted my family and I with drinks at the bar, kept offering us some bruschetta/pasta and we didn’t even need to ask for it, and even offered to take the time to cook my mom a meal that wasn’t even on the menu at the restaurant. Her and the rest of the staff are VERY helpful!

Friendliness is what distinguishes this hotel from others. We stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks, yes, 2 weeks as we used Sorrento as a base to explore Pompei, Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Naples, etc. as well as some off days where we just used the pool to relax and recharge. And we started every single day with very high quality breakfast served by the friendly people. We booked the two week stay in 4 or 5 separate reservations, as we couldn't find availability of the same room type for the entire two weeks, and expected to need to change rooms every couple days. But when checking in, Antonio told us they already noticed our multiple reservations, and worked to combine them on the backend and we would only need to switch room once. We were certainly very appreciative of their efforts even before we set foot in the hotel. And we enjoyed both rooms we stayed, the first one was a bigger room facing the main road but noise was not really an issue with the door closed. And the second one faced the swimming pool and provided a very relaxing vibe. Housekeeping worked hard to keep the rooms sparkling clean everyday. And while we certainly loved the Italian food in the nearby restaurants, on the days we wanted something different, the Thai restaurant across from the street serves very authentic Pad Krapow.

The service was splendid and all the staff were super friendly and welcoming. You can go out the whole day and come back to a clean room and nothing is missing showing how trustworthy the hotel is. The pool and services were extraordinary. Felt so welcome here that it was like another home. Tiziana was an excellent member of the staff. She would personally cooked for the hotel, be your server as well as your bartender. She is super hardworking and friendly.

We found this hotel excellent. Our room had a sea view overlooking the pool. The room was well appointed and clean. The maid service was also very good. The breakfast was excellent and there is also a small bar. The pool area is also good. The only downside is that the pool is shared with the hotel next door and I suspect the pool bar is ran by them. The attitude of the staff is certainly not same as the main hotel. They were curt and most looked as if they really did want to be there. Hotel is situated on a busy main road with a 15 minute walk into the town. Don’t know if noise is an issue for front facing rooms but we were fine at the back.

Unfortunately, our experience at Hotel Gardenia was overshadowed by poor hospitality and maintenance issues. The staff, particularly the evening and night shift concierges, displayed unprofessional and rude behavior throughout our stay. On our first night, the older male concierge working the evening shift was dismissive and unfriendly when we asked where to buy water. Although we couldn’t understand everything he said to another employee, it was clear from his tone and demeanor that he cursed at us. The second night, a woman at the front desk was even worse. Neither of them gave their names. When we arrived with a pizza to enjoy on our room’s balcony—furnished with chairs and a table—she abruptly stopped us and yelled that eating in the rooms was not allowed. She went as far as to claim that we would make the room dirty and stain the linens, effectively prohibiting us from even entering the hotel with the pizza. This was an outrageous and insulting attitude toward guests who were paying for the room and service. Her behavior was beyond rude and completely unprofessional, leaving us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. Additionally, the room had significant maintenance issues. The shower drainage was blocked, forcing me to stop midway through my shower and wait nearly five minutes for the water to drain to avoid it overflowing. Standing in the cold while waiting for the water to clear was extremely unpleasant. To make matters worse, there was visible mold on the shower glass where it joins with the floor and at the top. We have pictures to document these issues, which raise serious concerns about the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities. While the hotel appears clean at first glance, these maintenance problems and the unfriendly, unprofessional staff made our stay extremely disappointing. If you value proper hospitality, functional amenities, and a welcoming environment, I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Poor service, rude staff, and lack of proper maintenance completely overshadow any positives this hotel might have.
