A good location, and very close to the entrance to Lion Rock. We were greeted warmly by very attentive hotel staff. Unfortunately our room did not meet our expectations. Whilst the room was comfortable, the bathroom was less than acceptable, and unfortunately for us, the room had an awful drainage smell that really made us feel unwell. The dinner service was quite frankly abysmal. We were with a tour, so we were offered a set menu, unlike the other hotel guests. This menu consisted of a mushroom soup- possibly a canned soup ? A salad starter which included a lettuce leaf a couple of carrot sticks and a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar- all inedible. We had a main course of spaghetti with tomato, which actually tasted like crushed tin of tomatoes had been stirred through it. The dish was luke warm. We were offered ice cream for dessert- but we declined. All the food was cold and unappetizing. The breakfast buffet was a fair to middling offering- the tea and coffee was lukewarm warm. The staff and manager were very pleasant and attentive.
