Hotel Boutique Elvira Plaza

The best thing about the Elvira Plaza is its location, tucked away in a peaceful square in the heart of old Seville. Our first-floor bedroom (104) looked out over orange trees and cobbled streets. It was lovely to wake to the sound of church bells in the morning, or take an afternoon siesta with the soothing mix of bird song and happy conversations from tourists strolling through the square. The shutters were suitably sound proofed and dark when a deeper sleep was required! Our room was small and simply decorated. The bathroom was almost as big and one wonders if the space might be better remodelled to provide more room in the bedroom. The bed itself was king-sized and comfortable, which aided a good quality sleep after a long day exploring the incredible sights and amazing tapas bars of Seville. The reason for 4 stars, not 5, is due to a sense that the Elvira Plaza is an annex to its larger neighbour, the Halo, and not a self-contained boutique hotel in itself. There is a shared concierge between the two sites; check-in and check-out takes place at the Halo Reception, which was a bit disorientating when we first arrived. Breakfast is also served daily in the Halo, but we were given no information about, or access to, its other facilities, such as the rooftop bar, Balinese massage or Arab baths (as advertised on both websites). Nor did we receive the complimentary glasses of Cava on arrival, though the glasses were ready on the counter. I think creating a more bespoke customer service for Elvira residents would be helpful. Apart from that, we had a thoroughly enjoyable three night stay and loved being right in the heart of Seville’s ancient centre.

Good location, and friendly staff. You have to check in at a nearby sister hotel which is a bit confusing but not the end of the world. The room itself was disappointing. The bed felt like it was about to break, wobbly legs which squeaked and wobbled every time we moved overnight. The patio door wasn’t lockable so we didn’t feel very safe. Also there wasn’t a soap dish so the cleaning staff obviously felt compelled to change the bar of soap daily- which seemed like a bit of a waste.

Good location for historic sites. Room was small but clean. Street noise and street cart noise . No air conditioning.

The postion on Plaza Dona Elvira in the Santa Cruz area is wonderful. We had a room with a balcony with the view across to the cathedral, amazing. The room wasn't what we were expecting, we had seen photos with a large balcony with a shade canopy. The room we got however was next door to this with a small balcony with an umbrella. This however didn't actually create any shade so we couldn't actually sit outside which was a bit of a shame. The room was minimilist but comfortable. The shower is in the bath which could be difficult for older people. The breakfast was round the corner in the sister hotel. First morning was a faff, having to ask for black teabags-none out, asking for milk for the cereal & being directed to hot milk in the coffee machine - you need to ask the server to bring some cold milk we found out the next day. The scrambled egg was not good, left on the hot plate for ages . Other than that though all was good, there was plenty of fresh pastries, bread, cheese, meats, fruit & yogurt. The staff were all very friendly & helpful & we would 100% recommend this hotel.

I stayed during the Semana Santa and found this a good choice. Great location to see prosessions nearby, but quiet hotel on the beautiful, peaceful Doña Elvira Sq. Clean and spacious, my room had a door opening on small internal balcony - for fresh air and birdsong!

The location of this hotel cannot be faulted, right in the centre but tucked away enough to feel secluded. I think the payment and check in process could be improved. 2 emails, 1 telephone call and WhatsApp messages within 24 hours about payment, I was thinking it was a scam. After hours check in (and breakfast) is at a neighbouring hotel, which is fine but unexpected and you have to arrive on foot as the area is pedestrianised. Rooms have all you need, worth having a view/balcony.

This was the worst hotel I had ever stayed. It smelled moldy and disgusting. Extremely small and the staff so loud at night.

Located in a quiet square between the Cathedral and the Alcazar. No vehicles, no noisy bars. Room is minimalist. You are basically paying for the location. Don't expect much else. Reception staff are variable. Some speak English and have great service. Others stare at you blankly! When reception is closed, the reception in sister hotel "Halo" (next-door) provides service.

Fairly disappointed with our current stay at Hotel Boutique Elvira Plaza. We are staying in a ground floor room, booked for us through flight centre. When we arrived, there was hair all over one of the pillows. The girl at the reception desk replaced the pillows and said the cleaners must have forgotten to change the pillow cases. When we turned the air conditioning on in the room, the whole room smelled off smoke and meat, as if the AC is vented through the nearby kitchen, this is gross, but leaving the AC off in 33 degree heat is a tough sell. The ground floor room has paper thin walls - while we expect to hear some outside noise (we aren't actually unreasonable) we can hear everything that happens at reception, including when the staff who work here are talking and laughing for hours at a time when no guests are around. Again, normal behaviour and i understand having a laugh at work, but it is fairly consistent and really loud.. ordinarily we might be out site seeing, but this is in the afternoon during siesta time and because it has been so hot (and the food in Seville so good) a rest in the afternoon has been a necessity for us. The staff are all very nice, but honestly the room sucks, the AC stinks, and finding hair on pillows (and all over the armchair in the room) upon arrival is just gross.
