Hotel Bohinj

This beautiful hotel is perfectly positioned on the banks of lake bohinj. We visited after 4 days hiking and it was the pefect retreat. My daughter made the most of the abundant breakfast but felt left out of the spa experience, under 18s not being allowed in spa areas in Slovenia. Maybe they could open the pool only for youngsters in the mornings? The hotel takes eco very seriously in both design and operation. The free socks on departure were appreciated.

Very pleasant eco hotel with cool and spacious rooms ( with great Aircon -much needed given the warm weather). The rooms were new with good bathroom and shower. The staff at reception were super. Breakfast was very good. The reasons I am giving 4/5: the building work at the entrance and in front of the restaurant was unpleasant and the restaurant was too warm ( it might be due to a design issue as the Aircon inside couldn't work because the bar staff kept the doors open to serve people in the garden). This was the reason we didn't have dinner at the hotel,which was a pity. We booked direct months in advance and we're not made aware of the building works,while this is now mentioned on their website. A small improvement: add body lotion to the provided toiletries, mainly for people like us who travel light ( hand luggage).

This is a beautiful hotel. I imagine in winter it would be a delight. In summer it is a heat trap. The eco friendly evaporative cooling was not up to the job. The in room hotel info even suggests that the wooden rooms retain heat so keep your curtains closed and open the windows at night to cool the room. Not ideal to let the mosquitos in. And as we booked a corner suite with a view it was wasted as we had the curtains closed the whole time in an attempt to cool the room down. So I warn you - if you love putting the air con on 18 and having a very cool room in summer this hotel is not for you. If you don’t mind open windows and a warmer room in summer go ahead and stay here. Aside from the heat ( which I acknowledge is partly my preference/issue) the hotel was great. Food in the restaurant was delicious. It was in a great location right next to the lake which was pleasantly refreshing to swim in. The area itself was beautiful and worth of at least a three night stay. The outside bar garden was a lovely place to spend the twilight hours, and on one night we were lucky to see the Slovenian pop band Booom! playing an acoustic set at the garden area. Thanks to our English waiter kept us supplied with food and drinks . The wellness area was relaxing and the massage we booked was amazing! So in summary a really excellent quality hotel in autumn, winter and spring… and possibly summer too depending on your air con preferences.

Special and warm hotel, beautiful wood design, spacious room with balcony - view to Bohinj lake. Good breakfast with local food. Just coffee from the machine is lousy -cappuccino is just like water... Room details of wood furniture and the corridors are wonderful - I love it. The view from the balcony was breath taking, staff very helpful and kind, . There are many beautiful hiking trails in the surrunging area. Every day You have 2 hours of wellness. The dinner is excelent. Looking forward to visiting You again!

Hotel (architecture, design of the rooms) is very nice. food was very tasty (for us l- adults), however no possibilities for kids (no kids menu) who are not fans of fancy (quite like fine-dining) food. i would like to point out that it is almost an adult friendly hotel. no pool possible for kids (pool on photos is only something like jacuzzi/whirpool, not a swimming pool and not a pool where kids are allowed).

The hotel is beautiful in a great location. This is a hotel worth a recommendation. There were issues that surprised us so thought it was worth mentioning. On the second day in the the room it became obvious the air conditioning was incapable of cooling off the room. The front desk said the would check it out. Upon returning later in the day there was no note in the room or message. I returned to find out status of the problem but had to restate the issue. I asked the person to accompany me to the room to see for themselves. Upon review the person agreed, yes, the a/c will not chill the room to the digital temperature selected on the thermostat. When I mentioned that I didn’t really care about the listed numerical temperature value and that we were only interested in having an air conditioning that can chill the room to something chillier than the outside summer temperature, the answer was, it’s not broken and that’s the best it can do. We had to sleep with the door open to the terrace open to get some fresh night air. So essentially 3 nights in an uncomfortably hot room. Really unfortunate.

We loved our stay at Hotel Bohinj, from the design and quality to the location. You are just steps from the stunning Lake and its beauty. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delicious - make sure you have a freshly cooked omelette! The fire pit in the evening is a great shout - they also had live music when we were there which was a lovely touch for some atmosphere. The spa facilities are lush, and if I was being really picky, could be a bit bigger for the space they have. A perfect stay and start to our Slovenian holiday! Thanks to all the staff for their incredible hospitality!!

This is a stylish, recently renovated hotel. We really appreciated all the design touches - so much thought went into every little detail from door handles to staff T-shirts. The location is fantastic, mere steps away from the beautiful Bohinj lake. The hotel garden is lovely - we really enjoyed our evenings by the fire getting to know other guests. The room are big, spacious and very quiet! It was so nice to be able to relax on our holiday for once and not get woken up at the crack of dawn by the cleaners slamming the hoover against the neighbouring bedroom walls - thank you! Made use of the lovely spa as well - great way to relax after long hikes, we just wish the opening hours were a little longer. The breakfast was good, with a lot of variety. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The same can't be said for the rest of the staff though - with the breakfast and the spa staff being a bit cold and stand offish.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here. Can’t say enough about the friendliness of all of the staff. Wish we would have booked for another night. Very relaxing with amazing views. 2 hours utilizing the spa facilities was included and was a big bonus. We enjoyed spending time out by the fire pit looking at stars and during the day spent time at the lake. The included breakfast was truly enjoyable as well…eggs, omelet station, fruit, bacon, sausage, cheeses, yogurt, breads, cakes &’cookies, smoothies, juice, coffee, tea, champagne and more. Our dinner at the restaurant was delicious as well. It was an easy bus ride from the train station to the resort but you can take a taxi as well. Was here with my adult daughter and had a wonderful time. I will definitely be coming back with my husband but good for families too as there is a big outside area for them plus the lake.
