We have stayed here before and it is a perfect place to stay before you hop on your plane at Newcastle Airport. It's a bit of a wreck to the airport - takes less than 5 mins!!! It's brilliant. The metro stops at the airport and it's about 6 mins to the Doubletree from there. There's also long term parking if you are going away and limited parking if you are staying at the hotel. You are assured of a good night's sleep with a comfy bed and thick windows. Fratellos restaurant on site serves excellent food, the bar serves everything and some good cocktails too to start your holiday off! Highly recommend Doubletree by Hilton.

Absolute brilliant hotel, staff so friendly and welcoming, can I just say, paul on reception was an absolute legend, as I rang up in the morning to request an early check-in as we arrived after 12 and check-in wasn't untill 3, but paul put a lock on our room, so it was ready for us when we arrived, give that man a raise. Perfect location and comfortable rooms, will deffo recommend, and if im visiting Newcastle again, I think this hotel will be my first choice, depending on price. The staff was super kind and helpful! They helped us check-in early and ALSO check-out later with no issue whatsoever! We also had an issue with the electricity in our room and, after explaining them the situation, they very promptly gave us another room so we could get ready for our event! Not only, in the end there was no need for another room because they rapidly fixed the issue! Would 100% recommend! The location was also great for both short Uber trips and short walking based on what you prefer/need!

It wasn't the best of experiences and I believe had we addressed some of the issues we came across sooner, things would have been different. There was a poignant smell in our bathroom and in all fairness we should have mentioned it sooner rather than expecting it to disappear on its own. When we did address it, we were moved into a different room instantly. The rooms could do with a bit more cleaning when it came to dust and hair in various areas. Will still recommend it.

I booked this for my Grandaughter and I to attend an appointment in Newcastle at 1.30pm and also a concert in the evening at the arena. Arriving well before check in at 3pm, the receptionist kindly allowed us to park in the hotel car park thus enabling us not to have to move the car from the metro station opposite later. This was a great help- thankyou. We checked in after our appointment and got our key for room 23. It was nice and cosy with the heating on and extremely clean. I did struggle to turn off the cold tap fully in the bathroom but my Grandaughter sorted it...maybe needs some attention from a professional. After getting changed, we headed back up town on the metro where we enjoyed seeing Rick Astley. It was quite late when we returned hungry but the hotel was fine with us ordering a McDonald's delivery from Kingston Park. All in all with breakfast included in the price, we had a super time.
