Il Tesoro Smart Suite & Spa

This small boutique hotel suited us perfectly on our week long trip to Naples. Located in the historic centre it was a great location for walking to the main attractions and to the train station & had a large number of eateries within minutes. The streets here are very narrow with only tiny 'pavements' - you need to pay attention when crossing the road as motorbikes come out of nowhere and will not give you the time of day! Stairs only up to the hotel level, so no use if you are unsteady on your feet or cannot carry your suitcase up. There is a lovely ( locked with an entry code) ornate gate from the street then up the stairs to the hotel entrance and another coded access. Inside to the calm and quiet reception and breakfast room with tv and some sofas too. Our room was comfortable and roomy with a small fridge, kettle and tv. Good WiFi. Very clean.No views from our window but we were out all day so no problem. Breakfast buffet of juices, cereals, yogurts, pastries, cold meats, scrambled eggs, cheeses, cakes, toast and endless coffee. Quite a feast and all lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It surprised us that there was a lot of graffiti and a lot of overflowing bins in this historic centre and we wondered why the local authorities don’t do something about this. It’s a very busy area especially at night but it is wonderfully quiet in this hotel as you are set back from the road.

Il Tesoro Smart Suite is a fabulous boutique hotel in the centre of the old city of Napoli. It is in a great location and so close to all the major City attractions and Pompeii. The welcome and pre arrival instructions were clear and concise. Our suite was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfasts gave a wide choice to select from. We stayed seven nights and enjoyed every moment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is described as a Sm”art” suite and this owes it name to the many pieces of art works on display in the public areas and suites. The Art works are fabulous. Being in the centre of the old City it is surounded by a myriad of restaurants. A gem of a find.

The hotel is not a hotel. There are a few rooms in a building. My suite was not a suite, just a room. The breakfast was not a breakfast, it was something to eat. And to get inside your room (120€/day) you need to pass three barriers : the gate, the foor, the room. Where you have a window covered with white paint (is truth, serious). Never again !

A nice hotel in a classic courtyard building. Around the corner from Spaccanapoli. A couple of blocks down that street brings you to Christmas Alley. Steps to Duomo subway station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Tasty breakfast buffet including pastries, savory items like cheese and prosciutto, fruit, and cappuccino available. I think we paid 5 euros per person per day for the hotel breakfast. There are a couple of flights of steps to enter the hotel. If this is a problem for you, you should be aware that there is no elevator as of April 2024. The entry courtyard has old-time charm; the inside of the hotel contrasts with this and feels quite modern. We visited from Massachusetts--a couple with two adult children. We took two rooms with Queen-sized beds. They kindly put in a temporary cot-style bed in the kids' room so they each had their own space. We were able to use the in-room fridge to cool sandwiches overnight that we bought to take with us for a day trip to Pompeii.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in April as a pit stop before getting a ferry to Sorrento. The hotel was hard to find as the building was covered with scaffolding, with no clear signage from the sidewalk. The receptionist was very welcoming and the check in process was simple and efficient. The room was basic as expected but did include a safety deposit box. Breakfast was odd, but fine. Small selection of cold meats, pastries and cereal served while seated on garden furniture. The location was good, with a selection of bars and restaurants near by. We decided to walk to the port the next morning, this was easy and took 15/20mins.

Super clean and perfectly located. The accommodation is in a charming old building and we even had a little balcony looking over a small street. The staff made us feel right at home…and Massimo the night Porter offered us a friendly welcome back on our return each day and even set up seats on a balcony in the reception area so that we could sit out and enjoy some wine in the evening.
