I read all the reviews before I went and therefore lowered my expectations. My friend and I were on a coach trip with Acklam’s. Luckily for us we got a room with a view, overlooking the promenade and seafront, which was spectacular. The room itself was small but room enough for us with two single beds. Surprisingly, the bathroom sink was in the main room, not the bathroom. Luckily, we have been friends for years and been on holiday many times together so it didn’t bother us too much. The beds were comfy and clean and the chambermaid made a lovely job every day, even folding our night clothes and placing them on our pillows. Fresh towels every day and our cups were either washed or replaced not sure which. As said in previous reviews the breakfast was excellent but the evening meal not so good. We found all the staff to be friendly and hardworking. The evening entertainment seemed to be popular but was aimed at the older people on coach trips. Bingo every night, £5 for a strip of cards, but good prize money. I did go swimming once and found the pool to be much smaller than in the pictures and could have done with a good clean as the tiles were dirty. It was warm though. The whole of the hotel could do with being refurbished as it was looking tired but the location was absolutely spot on. Llandudno is a lovely place to visit. I would go back to this hotel as I did enjoy the visit. You get what you pay for as they say, just lower your expectations and go with the flow. We didn’t encounter any problems anyway and nothing of great concern that caused us to complain.

There were twelve women in our party, we went with majestic, when we got there people took our cases inside and left them in a lounge where we had to find them and take to our rooms. When I walked into our room I couldn’t close the door because it was so small it was claustrophobic. The room was a single bedroom in which they’d taken the bedside table out and put another bed in, it looked out on a flat roof and fire escapes, you could smell the food from the kitchen, I went to ask for another room so they took us to room 109 which was a family room when we said we’d take that we were informed that it would be an extra £120, we didn’t ask for that room they offered it to us. When I went to reception later to ask something I was told that we had to pay the money straight away or the key wouldn’t open our room after 24 hours, which I took as a bit of a threat, so I paid the money straight away, when we had a good look at the cleanliness and the dirty sofa we went to reception to ask for the extra money we’d paid. The manageress was wearing a baggy pair of joggers and a baggy t.shirt, seeing her cleanliness and hygiene it stood to reason why she said the room was clean, the room was freshly decorated and carpeted, the bathroom was very small but newish, the bath mat had mildew on the bottom so I put a message in it asking for it to be removed from our room, there was a cream sofa in the bay which was black, I took a video and photos of it and showed reception, the following day someone went in the room and took one sweep across it and that has the nerve to tell majestic it was clean, in the Thursday we went on a day trip, when we came back our beds had been made but the floor hadn’t been hoovered and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. When I went to reception the receptionist apologised and cleaned the room while we were having dinner, the food was mediocre, salad every night, cooked dinner every night and an alternative, I had ham salad every night, dessert was a factory made cheesecake, chocolate cake or trifle. The dining room wasn’t very nice and had a foundry smell about, tables and chairs were marked and worn. We stay in a 4*hotel in Torquay for Turkey and tinsel with another coach company, which is immaculate, staff are really friendly, they serve a 6 course dinner and all you can think of including smoked salmon, kippers and continental breakfast for the same price we paid for this disgusting place

Positives: Great location, sea front and close to the town and everything. Pool is good, but the 'changing rooms' are just one room with one bench, I was lucky enough to go when it was empty although my girlfriend said she got funny looks off a mother and daughter while she tried to change but what can you do in an open room? Negatives: Our room door would only open if you slammed into it (had to ask for help at reception initially). Corridor lights flickering and the outside our room didn't work and had a wire hanging down. Sink in bedroom, bathroom was beyond small and the noisy sliding door didn't close properly. Shower pressure was laughable. Walls paper thin, I was awake about 6.30am listening to next door chatting away as they got up, clearly word for word. Hotel has dusty cobwebs all over if you look which proves it isn't cleaned well. Dining time you're told where to sit which I didn't like at all, so you're sharing a table with other people which is always initially very awkward and you must keep this table for your entire stay. The food was poor, frozen veg, same offers every night except the meat changed and the bland soup. We only stayed for 2 of our 4 evening meals as we felt we'd rather pay to eat out and have a more enjoyable experience. Bar sells drinks at rip off prices, so we went to the Wetherspoons which is a 4/5 min walk away and half the price. Needs money pumping into it to make it so much more.

The rooms were filthy, Receptionist just fobs you off. Food terrible and cold. We were ridiculed in dining room one of them told us we were in the wrong seats when the head of the dining room told us to come for all meals here. We had to eat all meals out and was extra cost to us both. Old curtains in wardrobe and smelled. The smell was old and not inviting. Even the swimming pool was unclean.

I travelled from Scotland with mum on a Caledonia coach tour. On arrival and getting our keys our allocated room involved going up 21 steps which mum tried but was unable to manage them and had to descend the stairs on her bottom, a member of staff went and changed our room for us and carried a more comfortable chair to our room for mum. The second day of our holiday mum had a fall in our room and was unable to get up even with my help I suggested to mum that I would go to reception and ask for help which I did and the two receptionists sprung into action straight away asking for the room number and going straight there I followed behind them. Other members of staff had to come to mums assistance one receptionist arranged this while the other spoke to mum reassuring her all the time. They asked her to trust them which she did and they got her up onto a chair. I'm glad to report that mum is ok although shaken and sore. A member of staff returned to the room after 20 minutes to check on her. The following day mum stayed in our room while I popped out and in the domestics came in while I was out and offered to make mum a cup of tea. They returned in the afternoon that day and the following to ask how mum was feeling and offered to make her tea. During our stay I was allowed to take our evening meals up to our room and breakfast the day mum stayed in our room. We are both extremely grateful for all the help the staff gave us plus the care and concern shown which we feel we wouldn't have received everywhere.

After a five day coach trip to Snowdonia I feel that I have been “fleeced by the aptly named Shearings.” Mostly when I have had a bad experience I keep quiet about it and only on a couple of other occasions have I given a bad review, but this story needs to be told. The journey from Somerset to North Wales, a long, convoluted multi stop, eleven hour endurance test although the coach driver was out of this world amicable and polite. We paid a premium to ride in the front seats but were only able to do so after the Rugby interchange with less than half of the journey remaining. On arrival at the Chatsworth House Hotel, Llandudno, and even before being allowed into our room to freshen up, we were immediately pressured into making a choice for our evening meal, selection being made from a tiny menu measuring approx 30 X 60 millimeters. During our stay many guests referred to our lodgings as Chatsworth Palace on account of it being the opposite. The hotel is in need of complete refurbishment and a management policy review. It has very little going for it. One of the cleanest aspects of our very small room (no 211) was the pristine white seagull who perched regularly on our windowsill. Shower and toilet microscopic, bouncy mattress resembling a miniature trampoline, constant noise (day and night) from plumbing, supply of hot water limited to certain times of the day, paintwork and carpet liberal with grime and a tv that worked sporadically. Did have a sea view however. Meal times were regimented and unpleasant. Breakfast in the undersized eating area was just adequate but the quality of the evening meal prompted a large number of guests to dine elsewhere. We discovered that The Goat, a few hundred yards up the road, serves very good food. Evening entertainment at Chatsworth was according to taste. Certainly made up for with volume what it lacked in quality. Bar staff were friendly, the 22 year old blonde receptionist did her best under the circumstances as did the Jeff Bezos look-a-like maintenance man. My comments reiterate many other Trip-advisor posts. If Shearings have not taken the trouble to make themselves aware of the state of this hotel they are in dereliction of duty and even worse, if they do know about it, what regard do they have for their customers. A quick glance at the Trip-advisor web-site is all it takes to reveal a great deal about how Chatsworth House Hotel presents. Perhaps Shearings CEO would like to stay there for a few days? Needless to say, the sad experience of Chatsworth House Hotel will ensure we do not book any future getaways with Shearings, however friendly the coach driver might be. Day one. Our free day in Llandudno. It was very pleasant and I would recommend a trip on the Orme hilltop railway. Day two. An enjoyable journey to the top of Snowdon via a mountain railway. It was to experience this trip that we had booked the holiday and it proved to be very worthwhile. Day three. A trip to Portmeirion. A fairytale

They won't be seeing me again at this hotel. It needs a blooming good shake up from the top management downwards. Not impressed how my partner & I where treated. Customer service was not good to say the least. Two examples..offering to microwave cold coffee and not being offered any toast on 2 of the 4 mornings. I could write more but feel it will fall on deaf ears!

Top floor room 321 like faulty towers.Radiator either on full pelt or off & clanging loudly, bathroom extractor fan only on if your tall & can reach the switch on the ceiling. Curtain linings ripped & water stains on curtains. Shower either trickles or like a strong waterfall. Goes from hot to cold all on its own. Carpet needs a good hoovering & possible cleaned. View of the garden was non existent, just tatty buildings & a flat roof & fire escape. Built in alarm at 5 am by seagulls tapping loudly on the window. Swimming pool had bits of torn up paper & peoples discarded plasters in. Female changing rooms dirty & broken hairdryer. Food ok but not enough staff to cover dining room.Entertainment more like a sing a long every night. No complaint policy or forms available from reception. Guess what ? We will not be returning.

This hotel is in a good location. Facing the beach. Looks good from the outside. Don't be fooled. I have just returned. I was a solo traveller. I paid extra for a room looking over the sea, which I got. Well I wasn't pleased for what I had paid for 3 nights. The washbasin was in the bedroom the shower was like it had been put in a cupboard. No where to hang your towel. Now little shelf to put shower gel etc. Had to put it on the floor. you leave your window open to far the seagull will come in. My bed was very squeaky. The staff were not very pleasant. Only the man behind the bar. And young girl who cleaned your room. I decided to have evening meal as I had only just arrived. 2 choices. Roast dinner or fish. £18 which I thought was a rip off, for dry chicken and veg. You had starter if wanted. And the desert was nice.

Llandudno Chatsworth Monday 19thMay 2025 5 days Supplement paid for a single room of £40 To my disappointment the accommodation was like a box room No bedside table so used my case Window sash broken and cracked so unable to open window The carpet was filthy Paint peeling off radiator I am only 5’ 3” The shower room was new fitted and sitting on the toilet there was only 6” of knee room The shower was so small could not bend down to properly wash myself and no hand rail to pull yourself up Next we come to the food The food arrived from the far end of the hotel on a very dirty trolley and by the time the food was served on a plate especially on the second sitting was cold and chips looked as if they had been cooked hours before and the quality of the other foods was almost unedible One morning a guest from my table did not appear for breakfast so went to reception to report and was told they could not go for at least 15 minutes and told me to go. He did need help and was unwell so staff went to him the next day an ambulance was called and it transpired he had mild food poisoning. Also another person staying in the hotel was heard saying that it was a s… hole of a hotel. I am a pensioner and saved hard for this holiday and was absolutely devastated with the holiday costing nearly £400 and booked with Leon’s of Stafford because historically it had a good reputation . I have raised this with Leon’s of Stafford to record my dissatisfaction of the holiday and await a reply as they apparently have forwarded it onto the hotel. Do not waste your money at this awful hotel, terrible food, terrible place!!!!

First the two things to praise about my stay. The breakfast was generous and the staff were very pleasant. I travelled with a Maynes coach tour- first for me! In my opinion the chef could have been on holiday for the evening meals which were the cheapest frozen convenience foods alongside tinned carrots and peas. This was disrespectful to the many seniors on this trip that they wouldn’t have appreciated freshly prepared meals alongside great fresh vegetables. We received 2 small baby potatoes with every single meal. Our bedroom carpet in room 322 looked like something from a crime scene stained wallpaper, carpet stains and ripped curtain backs . I work in hospitality and I would be embarrassed to sign off on the cleanliness of many parts of this hotel.

Fluffy pillows but stained. Asked for a replacement that was no better. Very disappointed for what we paid. Staff were helpful however. Great views of the sea from.our room. Skipped breakfast as llandudno has no shortage of places offering it. Great shops to wander round .

We booked into here late on Thursday evening as a last minute trip to remember a loved one. We arrived at the hotel and staff were friendly. We went to our room which was basic and clean. We were woken during the night by noisy people in the upstairs room banging doors at 3am. My partner rang reception to complain it did go quiet after. Went to the swimming pool around 4pm which was very good The hotel is on the seafront which is a great location. Would I return not sure
