Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani

Beautiful sunset, good bar & meals, Amazing facility (literally everywhere is more than great) and nice hospitality. I should have booked here at least 3 nights. If you want to stay near famous beaches, then tourist attractions are not in walking distance, but you dont even need to go, staying in this resort is perfect enough. GOOD VIBE!!

Our first time in Zanzibar and this was the hotel we chose for our 11 night holiday. We had zero regrets!! The hotel was lovely and very traditional looking - we loved this, compared with a big commercial hotel. Beautiful views of the Indian Ocean!!! First impressions: - Staff were very welcoming & friendly, Advised us that check-in is 3pm (we arrived approx 11:30am) but our All-Inclusive begins immediately so we could go eat & chill around the resort until we had a room sorted. We didn’t have to wait too long as our room was ready at 12:30ish. Whilst we were waiting, we were shown to the showers & changing rooms which was great after a long time travelling. - Hotel was very clean & there was rarely a cleaner out of sight. The public toilet areas were always clean & well presented. - Our room was a bungalow on the beach front …… AMAZING!!! - The hotel was busy but you wouldn’t know through the day, only at meal times. It was fabulous for us as we wanted a chilled out and relaxed break. Spa: OMG what can i say - this place was a godsend. Whilst we were at the resort we had 6 treatments between me and my partner. 2 x Full Back Massages each and on our last night we booked a Hamman Spa treatment. The staff were fantastic!!! Would highly recommend booking a treatment with the team if you stay at the hotel! After our first massage both me & my partner had the best nights sleep ever!!! Trips: We used the onsite trip company Crab and Lobster. Amir was fab in helping us make the best of our stay in Zanzibar. All staff were amazing - very friendly and helpful no matter the questions or requests we had. Some special mentions to highlight: Buffet restaurant Manager: Alvin - thank you for looking after us daily 😊, Buffet restaurant waiter - Daniel “Mr Chelsea” - thank you for serving us so proudly and having football conversations with Gavin every time you served us! 🙂. Monica & Alos in the jetty bar - you were fabulous and made the days pass whilst we were laid down at the jetty.

We went here for our honeymoon and we can say the Reef & Beach resort will be a big part of our memories of Tanzania/Zanzibar. ☀️ The rooms are fully equipped and clean. During our stay, day temperatures were around 33 degrees, and nights "cooled down" to 27 degrees. So the AC in the rooms were working overtime. The beds were bit hard but good quality, and for us comfortable. Every evening housekeeping comes by to spray for mosquitoes and close the mosquito nett. The food was very good. Buffet style, and a big variety of different dishes every day. Meat, fish, vegetarian : and all very tasty and of good quality. Even local dishes are there to try (very nice cuisine, rich flavours). In between meals, some nice and tasty snacks are served at the pool bar. Do try the cocktails! The spiced Sangria for instance: my new signature drink! 🍹 The staff is very friendly and goes far and beyond to make your stay as good as possible. We booked a 5 day safari to Tanzania mainland (round-trip), which was executed by the same owners of the resort. And this was breathtaking. We saw a lot of wild animals, beautiful nature and met up with the locals. During the trip we stayed at camping sites with luxury lodges (fully equipped with your own bathroom and toilet). At night we could hear the animals around our tents which made the experience even more amazing. We never ever felt unsafe as all the staff at the sites were very friendly and experienced. This truly has been the best holiday we have ever had!! The staff are fabulous, nothing was ever too much trouble and the hotel is so beautiful with so much wildlife around. The Indian ocean is right there for you to enjoy the crystal waters and is so much fun. The kayaks were a great experience on the waves! The rooms are spacious and have very comfy beds! There’s a safe and a massive shower, we didn’t miss having a tv or a fridge as the jetty is open 24 hours for drinks. We loved the authentic feel we got here with the wood and natural stone everywhere. There’s so many staff members to mention but G, Joseph and Alex in the animation team were always a laugh and very welcoming. Soud, the head waiter and Renada in the restaurant along with bar staff Flora, Zena were just amazing! The chefs and the house keepers, as well as all the maintenance guys working so hard we’re all so friendly and welcoming. Yes there has been some renovation works but you have to have some allowances as they need to maintain the property and improve where needed and they can’t shut down the hotel for that. It never was a problem for us and we spent a lot of time at the main pool and the jetty. Obama at the crab tours sorted us some fabulous excursions and would highly recommend him.

We stayed here for 2 weeks end of May and overall had a lovely stay. The hotel is mapped out well with lots of space for people not to be on top of one another, the scenery is top notch with access to the Indian ocean which is beautiful. Most of the staff are welcoming and happy. They taught us basic swahili and we had fun times practising this out. We were happy to tip those that gave great service. However we did experience a staff member who constantly told us that he had no money to feed his family and was sad etc. We felt this was begging and made us feel uncomfortable. The place is having building work done and although the maintenance on the new building didnt effect us. We would say that the maintenance on the older buildings were a negative. New roofs being done above your room from 8am til 6pm meant there was no chance of a lie in or afternoon nap. They often would drop materials from the roof down just outside the balconys, causing a mess on the floor and on occasions just missing people walking down walkways. They did clear this up at the end pf the day but it was very dangerous and annoying at times. The machinery noise round the pool also got loud on a few occasions. The other poor experience wss the bathrooms nearest the jetty. As there are no toilets on the jetty these are the nearest facilities. For the last 3 days before leaving these were also being maintained all day and night, meaning the nearest 1 cubical was at the mango bar even further away. This put a dampner on having drinks on the jetty at night. Our only other suggestions would be, a rail in the big deep pool as the steps are the same colour as the bottom of pool and we often miss judged them. Pool service would be an advantage and make the hotel even more special and dining times more flexible. Overall with a few tweaks and upgrades this hotel will only get better

As frequent travelers, we know many of the world's hotels. The mix of warmth and professionalism of the staff of his hotel, made it a very special experience for us. We can only recommend it to anyone who has not yet been there yet: Visit this hotel - it's worth it. Whether it's the reception staff (greetings to Ismael & his colleagues), the kitchen or the Massai's, we will miss you all. You made such a great impression on us. Paul matona is the best barman! Wat een fijne vakantie.. mooi resort, fijne mensen. De apenfamilie die hier ook leeft.. alles gewoon top! Wat een geweldige ervaring. Vele mooie uitjes en het personeel is gewoon super lief voor je! Ze zijn aan het verbouwen maar totaal geen last!

We spent 8 nights in Reef and Beach resort at the beginning of May. Due to the delayed flight, we arrived the resort quite late but the hotel ensured that we had sandwiches and fruits when checked in. Nice touch. We stayed in the mangrove suite, simple but fine for us. Aircon worked perfectly, plenty of hot water for shower. Meals in the all inclusive restaurant were good with varied dishes to try on the themed nights...minor things were "beer not cold enough". Tasty snacks were available in the afternoon, no chance of getting hungry! During our stay, weather was a mixture of occasional downpour and sunshine. The beach was rocky with extreme high and low tide. One day the tide was so high and strong that the jetty was damaged. This is nature! Hotel acknowledged the inconvenience and provided free excursion to Paje. There were some building work in the hotel which were fenced off. Hopefully, the resort will have a new look when completed for the busier season. Colobus monkeys were seen every morning, very cute but we didn't find any nocturnal bushbabies. Before our arrival, we did our research of the resort, its location, beach and culture - all have lived up to our expectations👍. A big thank you to the helpful and friendly staff 👏😊💕 !!

The best place I have been able to find in this paradise! It lacks nothing, beach, swimming pools, relaxation and of course lots of fun with the hotel's entertainment team! The best I've ever seen, Marry is incredible, they organize different shows every night and they take great care of us! You feel at home! An exquisite treatment! Always organizing parties so that clients feel better than better! We will definitely return and of course... we made great friends from here
