We had a fantastic stay at Le Mersenne. The location was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure our needs were met promptly. Our room was spacious and offered a beautiful view. The facility is east-facing, overlooking the Indian Ocean, which meant we enjoyed a refreshing sea breeze throughout our stay. It also gave us the chance to witness breathtaking sunrises and moonrises, especially since it was a full moon during our visit. The stunning Blue Lagoon was just a short boat ride away, as was the nearby sandbank. The Starfish area was a little further up, but the boat ride itself was an enjoyable experience. The only minor drawback was that a few maintenance improvements could enhance the venue’s overall quality. The complimentary boat trip and the paid snorkeling excursion were both excellent. Captain Haji went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider visiting again!

The room quality was excellent - although it was a garden view room, the jacuzzi tub is a must try. Aircon was the best I have encountered, the design of the room was classic and the linen was very comfy and soothing to the skin. The chef Dominic made some world class fish with lemon butter sauce for dinner which was top notch and the breakfast was stumptious too! I must recommend the hotel to anyone who is coming to Znz. The welcome drums with the welcome drink upon arrival is something to record but unfortunately my phone was far away. At the end of the day it’s a Marriott Bonvoy!

Le Mersenne boasts a picturesque location with beautiful grounds, but unfortunately, several aspects fell short of five-star expectations. The biggest disappointment was the food—despite the high prices, very few dishes were well-prepared. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory but uninspiring. We ended up dining at other nearby restaurants, where the food was more plentiful, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The rooms were spacious but could benefit from better furniture arrangement. The washroom showed signs of wear, with some puzzling design choices—such as unusually high sink basins and an oddly tall toilet. While the staff was friendly, the overall management and service did not meet the expected standard. Sadly, based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying at Le Mersenne. This hotel does not provide a true five-star experience, and Marriott Bonvoy members should be aware that it does not meet the standards of other luxury properties worldwide.

Great place to just relax and reflect. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Our server, Juma was awesome and Maddy really took care of us. Front desk was great. Food was out of this world. The only thing is, there is no beach access. The spa was incredible.

If you're looking for a hotel that provides seclusion in a location well placed for small excursions, then look no further. The welcome and hospitality at this resort are second to none. Thank you, Megan, Majid, Micheal, Pascal, Olivio, Ezikial, Maddy, Paulina, Captain Haiji, Ali, and pretty much most of the staff at this wonderful resort. They all contributed to making our stay a memorable one. (Hope I spelt everyone's names correctly)

We had a fabulous time! Spacious rooms, great hospitality and friendly staff. The Pure Spa at the hotel is heavenly! We had a great VIP signature package Abu and Sam who run the spa are such generous hosts! The Pure Spa is must try when you visit Le Mersenne Zanzibar.

We had a great time at this beautiful property. Everyone was very friendly and excited to engage with us; the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very vibrant. The location is spectacular, peaceful and it feels very cozy. Peter, Tessy and Emmanuel at the bar were quick to help us and took a great care of us. June, Vanessa, Kezia & Megan at the front desk were so pleasant and welcoming. Israel and Alt( and his wife in security) - bellman, also Tonny & Raymond at the pool and Asia were great. Olivo, Solomoni and Juma at the restaurant; Chef Dominic Gomez made sure we knew all about the local dishes and the locally sourced ingredients of all the dishes on the menu. Juma was such a pleasure to have spent time with. He made our dining experience truly memorable!

I would NEVER recommend that anyone visit this hotel. We took a private villa, but below was the outcome: 1. I specifically requested room decorations for my wife's birthday, and this was utterly ignored, ruining what should have been a special occasion and surprise. 2. There is no consistent hot water in the room. It works for only 5 minutes before shutting off completely. 3. The bathtub is faulty and cannot retain water, making it completely unusable. 4. The TV in the room is non-functional, with every channel or option displaying "service unavailable." 5. The entire room had a cockroach infestation. After the room was sprayed with insecticide, the floor and bed were filled with dead cockroaches and various other bugs. 6. Water all around the hotel is just well/salt water, they cannot even afford a water purifier. 7. The private pool was very dirty and showed a significant lack of maintenance. With broken parts, and visible dirt, the pool was also unusable. I have videos and pictures if need be.

I have found my Shangri La in this beautiful Hotel. From the moment I stepped out from the car into Hotel to the departing one week later I had enjoyed my stay tremendously. Incredibly friendly staff, wonderful spacious Villa, gourmet breakfast. What else one can seek? The hotel is far away from tourist spots, located on a hillside overlooking beautiful gardens and tourquoise ocean. The hotel provides daily free trips with a boat to a sandbank about 15 minutes ride in the middle of pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. There are two good restaurants in the hotel, one with nightly show. But if you want to explore nearby eating spots, the Hotel provides with round trip transportation. I promised myself that shall be back at Le Mersenne

Most spacious room with a beautiful view. All the staff members were so friendly and willing to help out anytime. I was greatly impressed with the food mostly the sea food. I would gladly come back to enjoy some more of this great place. Kudos.

Told we were being upgraded on arrival only to be put in one of the worst rooms ever experienced. No hot water until day 2, broken vanity desk lamp shade held together with masking tape, filthy chair. After night 2 they changed our room which was fine. However, while the staff are extremely pleasant and polite they are clearly not trained so restaurant service was appalling on several levels. Aside from duty manager Megan who was fantastic and worked hard to resolve the issues, she had no proper competent support and the so called hotel manager seemed happy to leave it to her to sort out. It is for the most part a beautiful property but poor standards of service and maintenance lets it down badly.
