Die Heimat Country Inn

We booked this lovely Die Heimat Country B&B in Homestead, IA for our 49th Wedding Anniversary get-away and were pleasantly surprised at what a delightful place it turned out to be. The proprietors, June & Marc, were very friendly and hospitable with fun stories, plus they served excellent breakfasts (for our two-night stay). The whole place was clean and comfortable with pretty gardens outside. It was also conveniently located to explore the Amana Colonies, and the Renaissance Faire. We would definitely return here again if ever in the area, and highly recommend it.

Die Heimat is a lovely place to stay! The rooms are comfortable and cozy, breakfast is wonderful and the hosts are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It is close to other attractions in the Amanas. It's not just an overnight stay but a lovely experience!

We had a delightful stay at Die Heimat! It is meticulously kept, and has a warm, inviting vibe. Rooms are well appointed with beds and pillows that are very comfortable, and I love the fact that we had an extra sink in outside the bathroom. Innkeepers June and Marc are lovely people and great hosts. Breakfasts are delicious, and location is quiet. I would definitely stay again!

Beautiful visit! You won’t regret this quiet, clean bed and breakfast. Welcoming couple, unbelievable tasty breakfast! The lemon blueberry cake was a real treat! Buy her cookbook while there, cause you will want it! Need to return for another get away!

This bed and breakfast is super comfy, very clean, and is decorated beautifully. The food is delicious, the best food at a bnb I have had in the US, and the owners are friendly and kind. You won't be sorry you've picked Die Heimat Country Inn. As a plus, the grandfather clock in the dining area has old-world charm. :)

This is probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed while traveling. Owners are very friendly and thoughtful, were a wealth of knowledge about the area and able to give us pointers on what to see. Good breakfast, loved the homemade buttermilk coffee cake!

I have stayed at the Die Heimat Country Inn three times, most recently Christmas week 2023, and I have never been disappointed. The breakfasts are large and delicious, June and Marc are the friendliest of hosts, and the premises are clean and quiet. On all three occasions, I stayed there with my husband, sister, and brother-in-law, and they all enjoyed their stays as much as I did. Charming, cozy, and conveniently located to area sights, it is one of my favorite places for a get-away!

I was in town with a musical group performing at the first-annual Wurst Festival in Amana Colonies. I booked a night at Die Heimat based on a recommendation from a fellow musician, and I'm glad I did! The inn is absolutely charming - clean, well-maintained, and has a lot of great character. My corner room on the 2nd floor was the perfect size - it wasn't small, but it felt really cozy. They provide filtered water and snacks for everyone, and some extras like wine for purchase. My favorite part was breakfast the next morning. Marc and June prepared an amazing feast - egg bake and scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, delicious coffee, and some juice options. They are two of the friendliest people I know, and we all had delightful conversations with them. You can tell they love hosting travelers, and they're really good at it! I highly recommend staying at Die Heimat if you're ever in the area.
