The hotel and its facilities are very nice. Here and there a few spots of improvements needed but otherwise a very attractive hotel with lovely features. A very pleasant stay starts with a dedicated lounge at the ferry terminal which is available upon arrival and departure (taking care of your visa and other requirements). Travel to the actual hotel is within short 20 minutes by hotel shuttle bus. You can chose between colonial style suites at the main building or near by or Thai/ Bali style villas on the large ground and a short walk away from the main building. The Thai villas are very nice, filled with all the necessary amenities and some top of the range products. Plenty of storage space, outdoor veranda seating and well kept exterior make it really nice. At the main section, the pool is with its 50 meter in length a true highlight, together with the very easy and close proximity to the pristine and huge beach section. Although facing north, the beach is actually in a bay and can be explored for hours. Also well worth mentioning is the spa which provides truly amazing treatments administered by very experienced therapists who will truly pamper you from start to finish. Regrettably, there are also a number of shortcomings. Although the hotel provides insect repellant for your daily use, even the best of preventions and best of cleaning/ spraying efforts of the staff will not stop billions of sand flees attacking you on the beach, especially after rain or during the evening hours when you become their dinner. However, the biggest drawback is the food and beverage section. For a hotel operating in such a high price category, the restaurant is a true letdown perhaps even the sole reason for not coming back again. Yes staff everywhere is very friendly, attentive and making it their business to know you by your first name from the start, but the entire food and beverage section requires a lot of improvements to even get close to a star rated service. Yes the drinks are well made (guess can be expected at prices of US$20 plus) but the restaurant service truly lacks what it takes. The food, expensive as it is, lacks any sort of imagination, is void of any special touches, and surely does not represent Indonesian cuisine in any shape or form. As said, staff are very friendly and trying their best however, if they are not taught the basics or led by indifferent managers, then things need to change. Management comes from the top. In summary, if you are looking for a nice place to relax in a colonial style building, not too crowded with a lovely pool, then please try the Sanchaya. However, if you looking for cuisine which is anything but poor, not even ordinary, then you better look elsewhere.

Tuy nhiên, có một vấn đề là họ tính phí nếu bạn mang dép đi trong phòng ngủ và dép đi biển đi biển mà không báo trước. Tôi suýt bị phát hiện phải trả khoảng 20 đô la Mỹ cho việc này, một mức giá hơi vô lý đối với một khách sạn 5 sao! It was a great stay for us. Sea view chalet is nice and comfortable for me and my husband. Unobstructed view for the sea is my favourite. Room service was good and staffs were friendly and always greet us with smiling face. We stayed for 3 nights and we ate our meals at the resort’s restaurants. Breakfast was included in our booking and food served at the breakfast was good but nothing special to mention. We had our lunch and dinner at the Spice and the Kelong seafood restaurant. I will say the food varieties is limited and pricey. I will say it is more expensive than Singapore (one of the most expensive city in asia). For two person we spent about 70$-170$ per meal… appitizer, one main dish and one cheapest drink. When we had seafood dish, it cost more, of course, about $170. Overalls, it was a good experience. Nice stay except the pricey food. Taste of the food are just fine. We stayed 3 nights, so it made us more difficult to choose what to eat when you have not much to choose and it is not exciting and you are at the resort… so you can’t go out and buy more affordable food outside. If the resort can have more Chinese cuisine will be good. So, if you are staying for relaxation then it is good. If you are foodie,,, this place is not for you.

Everything was great but please learn to delivery ”no” message to your customer instead of stalling tactic. We requested for early checkin as the ferry disembarked at close to 12pm. The concierge told us it was subjected to availability. They will try to clean up room quickly. We waited close to 3hrs, 15mins before official check in time to get the room. But we noticed neighboring units were empty.. and due to low occupancy, the breakfast was ala-carte instead of buffet.

Good location for a beach front holiday. Kids could play at the beach and swimming pools for the entire day. Thank you for the hospitality (from most of the staff)! The only issue is that the General Manager or someone from senior management (Mr R - didn't catch his full name) who appeared on the last day should have better communication with the staff at reception - what the reception informed us on the first day when we double checked on some additional charges (staff said no charge) is totally different from what he insisted on the last day of our stay (he said got additional charge).

It rained at night and the walls are wet in the inside. Beddings sheets time for new ones. White beddings are not looking bright white. Overall still ok with the good price. Bfast menu been the same for many years. 😊 still happy with the stay
