Agar Apart

Lovely family owed apartments ,I cannot fault the place, staff and management went above and beyond to make our holiday a good one . We had three issues with the room they we’re all sorted out by the time we came back from dinner out …one of the lads waited for our return to let us know the issues were dealt with ( you don’t get that kind of service in England) The food was excellent and service top notch I’ve not had better in 5star establishments . Apartments are basic with what you need ,we did not use the catering hob as food was a very reasonable price to dine out or eat onsite . I feel the addition of maybe a microwave to rooms would be a bonus for some . Cats were a welcome feature and very friendly, you don’t go to Turkey and expect them to know boundaries on property …. Makes me giggle when I see people complain about the cats go elsewhere and complain about cats in that country as well tut .

This is as honest an account I can give , the friendly staff sadly cannot make up for the overall shortcomings . The apartments are extremely basic and in need of a refurb . That said there are positives but sadly more negatives . This place is staffed by lovely people all whom are very friendly and helpful. The beds in the bedroom are comfy but the bedding is hard as a rock . Apartments are cleaned every day and fresh towels provided - again they are old and thin and rough on your skin. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant although only ate lunch a couple of times but it was freshly prepared and reasonably priced . There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool which is big enough to swim in and the water is clean and not too cold. However many of the comfy pads on the sunbeds are old and worn and in need of replacement . The pool is a decent size, but there is no life guard and there isn’t a shallow end although there is a small section railed off for children that is shallower . Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced but cash only meant we drank elsewhere as we prefer to pay on card and not travel with large sums of cash . Gardens are pretty and well kept. Powerful shower with plenty of hot water, although difficult to regulate and could easily scald and the shower head could do with being replaced , in fact the whole bathroom is in need of an upgrade particularly the shower enclosure as the silicone is black /mouldy and cracked in places . The beds in the lounge area are tatty , lumpy and very uncomfortable . We were all bitten , despite using bug plugs and insect sprays . The rooms are extremely basic no toaster , no microwave , no iron , no hairdryer and no TV . Nowhere to hang out wet swimwear / towels and the whole place is plagued with stray cats . The strong smell of Cat urine is prevalent around the complex . The apartments are not sound proofed and you can hear every noise from the neighbouring apartment, including use of the toilet. Restaurant and bar only accept cash but this isn’t told to you when you order . Cleaning is offered daily and the cleaners do a very good job . No courtesy room or luggage room so had to pay for late checkout as our flight was very late in the evening . Considering the price we paid I guess we shouldn’t have expected much - after all you get what you pay for , and it was relatively cheap given it was school holidays but for me it is too basic with just too many stray cats roaming the place . It is not somewhere I would return to.

Can't really fault the place. So many of the guests are repeat visitors and I think that says it all. All of the staff were excellent, warm, friendly and eager that the guests had a good time. The room was spotlessly clean. The kitchenette is not equipped for ambitious meals but is fine for cold breakfasts and storing Bottled water and cold drinks. We preferred to have simple bread, cheese and tomato breakfasts with food from the local super markets. V nice bread. Had a full breakfast on our last day which was very good . Ate there on an evening a few times and the food was always very good. The credit card machine wasn't working but they did accept sterling.

Just back after 11 nights at this hidden gem. The apartments are very clean and the food which is prepared by Burak and Ercan is fabulous. Aziz the Barman is really nice and helpful and can also be very funny 🤣 The boys work so hard and nothing is a problem for them. The location of these apartments are ideal with lots of Turkish cafes and kebab shops 100 metres away.

This was our second year at the agar and it won't be our last this place is a little gem Mary Elvin and all the staff do everything they can to make your holiday a good one and never fail and we'll done Mary and Elvin for your jet2 award it is well deserved 👏 see you again next year ❤️

What an absolutely amazing week we have had at the Agar Apartments, thank you to all the staff!! While we were here, the hotel received a Jet2 Quality Award, one of only four hotels in Bodrum to receive this. A different experience for us coming off season but just what we wanted. The hotel is as usual, spotlessly clean, with the staff ensuring our room is kept to a lovely standard. I have to mention the two bedroom apartment, which is spacious and offers some privacy for all. The air-conditioning has just been replaced a couple of months ago which is always a bonus. Just remember to keep windows and doors closed to get the best benift in the shortest time frame. Pool is spotless and cleaned every evening, slightly cooler than usual. Food as usual, is superb with many various dishes on offer. Overall, I lovely sedate experience with loads of fantastic memories,

Just back from our 2nd year in a row staying at the agar. Already looking to book again for next year. Our apartment was as usual clean and well presented Just what’s needed for self catering. Mary and the team were as welcoming as ever. We ate a few times in the restaurant and the food was great. Had steak on last night and it was cooked to perfection. We met up with a few regulars that have been going here for years. The waiter aziz was as cheery as ever and very accommodating. Apartment was cleaned every day. Supermarkets and bars restaurants and shops only 5 min walk so perfectly situated. We arrived quite late but was not a problem. Got our air con and late check out sorted right away without any problems. Can’t wait to get bk next year.

This hotel is not a 3 star hotel. It’s very dated. The staff are very, very rude. The cleaners were lovely and tried there best, with basic facilities. The jet 2 rep wasn’t helpful and didn’t respond to my complaint. It’s not what you expect of a jet 2 holiday. Air con is rubbish. I booked after reading the good reviews, but felt very let down. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

We booked this hotel after reading other reviews, we booked a 2 bed apartment and was fully aware there was one aircon unit in the living area, upon arrival late at night we checked in and my husband said we would pay for the safe and aircon in the morning, when entering our room all the doors and windows where open and the room was very hot, we understand there was a heatwave but the aircon was not doing anything, we then spoke to reception and he came up and said there was nothing wrong with it, so we asked to borrow the fan from reception, we had no sleep as it was just too hot. My husband asked to speak to the Manager as we had spoken with another guest who had stayed there before and they said they had just been moved as theirs wasn't working properly, we spoke to another guest and he said his was so cold he had to turn it off so it clearly wasn't to do with the heatwave!! he told us another lady in his party with small children had spent 6 nights putting wet towels on her children so they could sleep she then complained and her aircon was sorted, they have also stayed there before, they said it had changed there from previous years and would not be returning! The manager was adamant there was nothing wrong with the aircon but my breath produced colder air than the aircon!! He just kept saying it was a heatwave! we asked to speak to rep as an argument broke out with my husband and the manager, 2 reps turned up and they where briefed by the hotel staff so also told us there was nothing wrong with the aircon, the thing that got me was how the smirked in your face and made out they did not speak English! my husband said we know it's not a 5* hotel but we expect a working aircon, the toilet seat was cracked and the shower head just sprayed out and you had to hold it and there was a leak so the living area was all wet, we have since been blamed for wrecking the apartment! the rep said to my husband but you said it was a cheap holiday! we asked to speak to an actual area manager 2 lovely people turned up and they agreed the aircon was not producing any air, the manager argued with them also saying there was nothing wrong with the aircon and it was a heatwave, so at this point we where advised the manager didn't want us at the hotel and we wanted to move anyway, my husband did become quite confrontational but after 3 days of no sleep, being lied to and treated like crap, also our disabled son was starting to struggle due to the lack of sleep and heat at night, we then moved to a different hotel and guess what during the heatwave the aircon was working and the manager was lovely and the rest of our holiday was fantastic. As per previous comment from hotel manager we did not say we would apologise to him to enable us to stay at his hotel as we wanted to leave, and we did not have to pay the full price of accommodation at the next hotel as the manager stated, we also had no problem paying for aircon that was actually cooling our room, when we moved w
