The pictures online are deceptive because the room was old. We had no hot water for hours and reception kept telling us to wait, so we slept without showering. Reception asked me how it was at checkout and we told them the truth but they didn't do anything about it. No microwave or kitchen facilities. Parking lot on the outside unsecured.

Room was big and spacious, slightly dated decor. Great location central and easy to get around. Gym was good but air con not strong. Fire alarm woke us at 2am where everyone evacuated for an hour. Not the hotel's fault but signs were not clear where the fire exits were. The entry from car park is ground floor so could be quite noisy if you had a room on that level.

Wasn’t a pleasant experience. Poor service and very dirty overall. Bath had mold all over. Ac wasn’t working.

I recently stayed at Arawa Park Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Rotorua’s main attractions and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The room was spacious, clean, and featured large, comfortable beds. Considering the affordable price, it’s excellent value for money and ideal for anyone looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay. The staff were attentive and friendly, even offering to heat up meals for guests—a thoughtful touch that added convenience. I also appreciated their focus on security, as they took note of my car’s plate number during check-in. I noticed that the hotel has washing machines and laundry facilities, which could be very useful for longer stays. While I didn’t ask if these are free for guests to use, it’s great to see such amenities available. Clearer information about their usage would be helpful. One downside was the lack of adaptors in the room, which made charging devices a little inconvenient. Adding adaptors or universal outlets would greatly improve the overall experience for guests. Overall, Arawa Park Hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and affordable stay in Rotorua. With minor tweaks like providing adaptors and clearer communication about amenities, it could be even better.

Lovely hotel and staff, good breakfast and well accommodating for family's with kids. Very comfy beds and pillows. Rooms spacious and warm, lovely facilities great value and only one small criticism was the internet speed was slow when using it through TV to watch netflix/disney

I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel. One of the lifts was out of order, causing long waits and inconvenience, especially during peak hours. The room itself was not clean — dust was everywhere. When my black pants accidentally fell on the floor, they picked up a noticeable layer of dust. Even more concerning, I found a glass in the drawer with hair in it — very unhygienic and unacceptable. The breakfast was another letdown: low quality, poorly presented, and certainly not worth the price I paid for the stay. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on the condition and value for money.

We booked it at the last minutes. The hotel location is very good with a big car park. We will definitely stay again.

The room is spacious and our little one loved it as he can run and play inside. Cot is free for 2yrs and below. Will recommend this hotel especially for families with kids.

The bedroom was huge and bed very comfortable! We had breakfast at the hotel one day to save time and it was ok only, the cafes in New Zealand are amazing so I recommend to have breakfast outside in different places everyday. One of the nights a fire alarm went off and evacuation of the all hotel was necessary, the firetrucks arrived fast and staff was helpful, probably somebody smoking at the room and we had to stay outside for around 1 hour, as soon as firefighters allowed everybody was back to sleep but I couldn’t come back to sleep so it ruined the next day, not hotel fault!

Came over for wifes 55th birthday. Have stayed here lots in the past. We like the big rooms and balcony. Place is getting tired, needs a renovation. We asked for high floor and got level one. Reception didn't see the note. Room service trays left in corridor for 3 days. Should have been a nicer stay. They do absolutely nothing for birthdays!

Stayed here for a two day staycation away from Auckland. This hotel was formally Rydges Rotorua. The premises was a little bit dated but otherwise very comfortable and satisfactory. From check in to check out the staff were fantastic. My room was serviced on my second day of the stay which was very much appreciated. I had dinner in the restaurant on the first night of my stay and that was also fantastic. And also a couple of beverages at the bar. I was also upgraded into a room that had a spa bath and a view of the Rotorua racecourse. I would highly recommend this hotel
