Hostel Casa d'Alagoa

I had a great experience staying at this accommodation, the receptionist was friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy. Especially I was the only one that night, so I got a while dormitory to myself.

The perfect stop over in Faro. I will always visit here. Good position in city with easy access to all facilties. Great staff and always accomidating. Being central to Algave make it the best hub for visiting all attractions in the province. Cheers.

A really nice hostel, very friendly staff, great kitchen and cinema room. Good rooms (with curtains) and toilets/showers beat my expectations. Location was good, wasn’t too far from anything. Price was good for the days we stayed. Would give it a 4.5/5 if I could. Faro can be a little boring as there isn’t too much to do.

A well run hostel with a few private rooms. Very friendly personnel and a good location in the centre of Faro.

We are first time hostellers and had reservations about this style of accommodation. We were quite pleased with our room...simple but comfortable, clean and modern. We had a warm welcome, and were walked through the hostel rules. It has some really nice outdoor spaces to enjoy a drink and good affordable meal options locally. I can't recommend our particular room (DC, a private double on the ground floor) because the window opened directly onto the street. The windows were frosted and seemed pretty good when closed, but for much of the year it's too warm to have no ventilation. ( There was a fan, but no a/c.) There is no privacy from the street with the windows open, so change in the bathroom and hope for no noisy passersby. We did hear lots of pedestrians and vehicles within about 10 feet of the bed. That said, we had had a very long day and a half of travel without sleep so we did sleep well. (We probably could've slept in a bus station at that point.) But we'd definitely stay again in a different room.

Just wanted to thank Stella and Patricia for looking after my daughter when she was stuck down with a nasty bug! My daughter called me in a panic and didn’t know what to do as was travelling alone, she didn’t feel well, was scared and alone in a foreign country. I managed to find the number for reception and the staff were amazing, they checked on her, took her water and looked into getting a doctor or emergency trea**ent. Unfortunately there were no doctors available and emergency was 8 hour wait. Stella and Patricia supported my daughter to a local pharmacy where she was able to get advice and medication she needed. They both have her free food and drink and were an absolute godsend! It’s hard for parents when our children travel alone, but knowing there are people out there that are so kind and supportive is so nice to know. There really are some wonderful people out there, thank you so much xx

Helpful staff and opportunity to join in with guests events. No problem if you are an older person alone. All ages and families are warmly welcomed.
