It was amazing! Nice swimming pool! Bath tub. We spend 6 nights here. Good service! Good view! Good location ! Worth your money

Such a lovely hotel both the public areas and the bedroom. Recommend the beach view so you literally see the ocean from your bedroom. Concierge staff aside (who were friendly and ready to help) the other staff in rooftop bar/restaurant, and room service, need more training to be able to deliver good customer service. They were inattentive and very slow. No apologies for mistakes and long wait times either. Poor communication from them, as well as multiple times hanging up the phone for room service during conversations, and having to go up to 5 bar staff on rooftop multiple times to chase things up when they were standing around with backs to their customers. 5* resort with 3* service.

It is a beautiful hotel with good view of the ocean and seeing the trains passing by. Room is clean with good layout and size. The city view from the rooftop pool is also amazing. Enjoyed my stay in Granbell Hotel.

The hotel overall was pretty good. Although the location is a bit far away from the Main Street, the facilities inside the hotel were good and the view from the room was fantastic.

Right from the start I was met with disappointment.
I selected this hotel specifically as it had an airport collection service - which was twice the price but I was prepared to pay it as I'm travelling by myself.
The hotel failed to collect me. The reception staff appeared unwilling to be particularly supportive and at one point hung up on me.
When I finally arrived, the hotel is nice. Room was a decent size, massive and comfortable bed, wet room style bathroom and full bath. I had selected a sea view which was worth it. However I was on the third floor which meant a 6am wake up by the local train rolling passed the hotel - after only 4 hours sleep, this wasn’t appreciated but also part of the charm of the location.
Management finally stepped up, apologised, moved me rooms and gave me free breakfast.
So the downside was poor initial comms from their finance team to their transport team, but redeemed by the manager who did go out of his way to rectify the situation (however it seems the front line staff weren’t empowered to make any decisions which was ‘annoying’ at 1:30am.
Final thoughts - rooftop pool and bar were amazing. Drinks are standard for a hotel bar and the food was good. They had a DJ at night who was a present without being overpowering and the bar had a great vibe. The brekkie was excellent and extensive!

Upon my arrival at the hotel at around 3:00 pm, there was a delay in finding my sea view room, which took almost two hours. Despite the check-in process being a bit of a hassle, I eventually settled into a cozy and comfortable room with a stunning view. The breakfast was decent, nothing extraordinary, but the 1st-floor cafe provided exceptional service. Although the hotel was fully booked, I firmly believe in treating every customer with kindness and respect.

I recently stayed at Granbell Hotel Colombo and it was a delightful experience. The room was spacious, well-decorated, and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring all my needs were met promptly. The pool area was well-maintained, providing a perfect spot for relaxation. I highly recommend Granbell Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Colombo.

Great location and the room was gorgeous. Lovely clean bathtub and could watch Comedy Central in the bath! Pool was beautiful and gym was big and had good equipment. Rooftop views were beautiful and you can see the Lotus Tower from the top. Breakfast room was a little full and had to share a table with another family, so don’t go at peak time. Very yummy food! Staff were a little rude… someone asked me for a smoke when dropping off room service, and another person came to my room to ask me to check out even though it wasn’t time yet- could take that as either pushy or efficient? Overall a good stay.
