Located near the South Gate entrance .. staff and manager was friendly room are big .. with heater and aircon .. out door and in door bath room .. very nice deco of the room . Worth every dollar spend .. dinner was nice just a bit on the high side .. with the variety of food .. any way 10/10

My husband and I stayed at Elephants Footprint Lodge for a short breakaway from our business and family life. Henry and his team were absolutely wonderful and so friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was beautiful, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lodge is ideally placed for guests to access Addo Elephant National Park and this we did, having a fabulous time in the park and enjoying some great wildlife sightings. We would certainly recommend Elephants Footprint Lodge and wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks to Henry, Veronique and all the team for looking after us!

We stayed as a large family group of six adults and four children. The rooms were equipped with everything we needed, and the staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Elephants Footprint Lodge is conveniently located just 2 km from the Matyholweni Gate, which made it ideal for us—we could easily return to the lodge at midday to give the children a break from game drives. While I’d describe the rooms as fairly average for now, it’s clear that the lodge is under new management and exciting upgrades are on the way. That said, there’s absolutely nothing average about the management and staff—their warmth and hospitality truly made our stay special.

What a fantastic find for our 2 night stay close to Addo National Park. From the warm welcome to the gourmet three course dinner with friendly service. The rooms exceeded expectations with the African theme and all the amenities and facilities one would expect of a four star graded lodge. It took us just 5 minutes to drive to the southern entrance to Addo, so we were able to get into the park without driving along the R335. The safe parking and quiet location were also a plus.

Everything was superb. From the accommodation to the staff and owner and the breakfast. I would just suggest better lighting for the rooms and sorting out the wifi which was not working when we visited.

My partner and I had a lovely time spending the night; the staff put together a lovely surprise for her birthday and catered to our every need. It will become a yearly tradition. The bed was heated for the cold night and the facilities were gorgeous.

We had a fantastic stay in a fantastic location: the staff was very friendly and helpful, we had a nice room and enjoyed the delicious food they serve.. The small pool is ideal for cooling off after a hot day. The perfect base for a visit to Addo Elephant Park!

Very nice lodge just near the gate of Addo Elephantpark. Very clean and nice food. Our doughter had her birthday at the moment we stayed at Elephants foodprint lodge and they gad a little surprise abd birthdaycakes for her. Very kind.

Well designed rooms surrounding a cool, calm outside sitting area. Wide choice for breakfast with tasty 3 course evening meal added as extra. Friendly, helpful staff, well stocked honesty bar and secure parking. Only 5 minutes drive from Addo Elephant Park South gate. Would recommend and return.

We came for the 4th time to this Lodge and we enjoyed it as much as always! The people are nice, the food is fantastic and the location is perfect so close to the entrance of the park!!

The positives...The property is well-situated - about a five-minute drive from the entrance to Addo. The rooms were clean. In the 35-degree heat, we really enjoyed the outdoor shower. Communication with Wesley before arriving was excellent. He was able to help me book an excellent guide for our trip into Addo. The negatives...Unfortunately, when we arrived at the lodge, it was 35 degrees out. The property doesn't advertise air-conditioning, but the ceiling fan was broken. When we brought this to the attention of management we were told that we would have to wait until the morning for it to be fixed (it was not fixed the next day either). We eventually asked if there was a standing fan we could use. This was brought to us although we were not able to sleep in the high temperatures. The dining room was also very hot. The meal that was offered was good, but extremely overpriced at 350 Rand pp, especially when that didn't even include water or drinks. Management seemed incredibly disorganized. When we mentioned we had a game drive booked, the woman at the desk could not find any record of the booking but told us to "wait outside at 930 and somebody would probably be there." Also, when we went to pay when we were about to leave, we were given a bill for a bottle of champagne and nothing more. We had to tell her that we actually needed to pay for a game drive, three dinners, and a few drinks. She had no record of what we had spent. I am not sure how a business can be run this way.

I just expected more when hearing 4star lodge. It is more a guesthouse. Pool was green, outside furniture is worn and paying R350 for buffet per person is steep for the type of food that was served. Fridge was also very small. We were roadtripping and had some food that needed to be kept cold. Thus I checked that there is a Fridge. But the Fridge available in the room is smaller than the average bar Fridge...

Friendly, helpfull staff, ready to give you the home away from home feeling. Meals, delicious typical South-African menu’s. Comfortable big rooms, incl bath and an outside shower. Could hear the neighbours quite clearly though. Courtyard with waterfall pool/pond invites to take it easy and just relax. 5min away from the southgate of Addo Elephant Park, staff ralsi eady to advise what the best options are for your safari. Overall a lovely stay, and would certainly return.
