Our new “go to” hotel I. Alexandria, Va. we used to stay on King Street - mostly at the Lorien Hotel. That changed to Archer Hotel and not nearly as nice or worth the money . Now we found a very short ride from old town is by Marriott. Springhill Suites . Much larger and nicer room, easy free parking. Very accommodating personnel. Great value. Never again ay Archer or the hassle of King Street.

Nice clean hotel, good breakfast and convenient location. It’s an easy drive to most of DC’s attractions and has ample parking on the spot. The rooms are pretty small and cluttered but if you there for a small stay that’s not much of a trouble.

I was visiting a family member on the spur of the moment in Washington DC on a long holiday weekend. I didn’t have a reservation in advance, so I made it Through my credit card company while I was at a rest, stop on the way down to Washington. I was hoping for a quiet room where I could just sleep off the trip down 95.. Gosh, was I pleasantly surprised. I was put into a room on the first floor with a high ceiling and a living room alcove with a couch and a desk on one side of a partition and on the other side, my bed, a large LCD screen TV a window And a bathroom. The room was tastefully appointed everything worked and everything was clean. It was a stylish kind of place to stay and come back here next time I drive down to visit my daughter. Added bonus was the breakfast which was ample, healthy, and tasty. The front desk staff were kind and professional, even for me, who checked in late at night . I wish more hotels could be like this place .

Pros: Loved the size of the two queen suite with sofa / trundle bed. Beds comfortable. Room temperature was good. Breakfast standard fare, but plentiful with eggs, toast, bacon. Cons: Pool hours 11-8pm seem designed so that pool can't be used given the checkout is 12pm and check in is 4pm. Very disappointing. Also, the incidental charge is $100, which I found steep and unnecessary for a quick overnight. If in area again, I would rule this hotel out, but I'd consider a hotel with longer pool hours.

I chose this hotel because they had an indoor pool and hot tub. Very disappointed to find that it’s closed for renovations although we saw none going on. It’s been closed for two months, they should have disclosed that on the website instead of advertising those features! Also, most of the exercise appointment and the TV’s in the workout room did not work!

No issue staying at this conveniently located hotel, checking in was pleasant and front desk was pleasant. I left clothing hanging behind the bathroom door and when I called later in the evening after we checked out I was told that someone would check the room and call me back. No call. I called again the next morning to be told that housekeeping turned nothing in. I hope whomever took my pajamas, bra and underwear needs it more than I do.

Thanks for the clean and comfortable room to stay in for the night. I would have given 5 stars but we stayed here last year at about this time and the spa was out of use then and STILL is out of use and needs repair . It’s been down a whole year or more ….Breakfast had some good selection but eggs and bacon tasted like microwave food and could use improvement . The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating!

The price was right, and the location was fantastic. Near restaurants and major roads to get to and from DC. Staff were friendly, and the rooms were decent. Beds good, shower pressure nice, and free breakfast. The pool was closed:( Plenty of parking. If you arrive late you may have to park in the back. Overall, it felt safe and like your average hotel.

Important to know. They make you sign an incidentals form, but will not give you a copy or allow you to see it after you sign. They “call it” an internal form so they do not have to give it to you. Of course we are not rule breakers, but it’s the principal. If I sign it, I want to see it. They also completely close the lobby at 10. You may not even just sit there. It’s like a curfew. They say you have to go to your room. Although when I went back down to get something, they had a personal guest hanging out in the lobby. The bathroom was also dirty with yellow (obviously uncleaned) on the wall next to the toilet paper. Breakfast eggs were gross and please clean the grossness out from under the microwave. Choose another Marriott.

Our first stay at this location and it certainly didn't measure up to other locations. So much didn't work or wasn't up to par: 1. Hot tub was out of order our entire 4 night stay and no mention of this was made during the reservation or check-in process. Perhaps not an issue for some, but 1 of the main reasons we selected this hotel anticipating a nice soak after each 5-7 hr day of sightseeing. Pool didn't look clean so we passed on that. 2. One sofa cushion was filthy. I put a bath towel over it so we could sit on it & although reported, nothing was done or offered. 3. There were numerous cigarette burns in the carpet - in a non-smoking facility! 4. The only soda machine located on the 1st floor was Out of Order as were the only 2 dryers in the guest laundry. 5. The Breakfast Buffet ran out of items 3 of the 4 mornings we were there. Sure wish I could have been nicer but other travelers need to know.
