Ella Hide View

Ella Hide offers excellent value for money, the rooms are not luxury but the views and hospitality are incredible. The manager was very kind and went above and beyond to ensure the guests enjoy their stay. We arranged the tea factory tour through the hotel and it was one of the highlights of Ella. The accommodation is out of the city centre, but that's the reason for the breathtaking views. The manager was excellent at arranging the tuk tuks to ferry us into town. He does this at a cheaper price than all the other tuk tuk drivers. You can walk into town from the hotel but be aware that Google maps shows a longer route. As others have mentioned, you can walk down the steps beside the hotel and then walk 10-15 mins along the railway tracks - not dangerous btw. A tuk tuk back is advisable. The breakfast is very tasty and you certainly won't go hungry. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we want to thank the Ella Hide View team for their hard work.

This hotel has the most stunning view of the mountains. The place was very clean and the food was great. The staff both Priantha & Milan gave us outstanding service and took care of all our needs with a very cheerful attitude. It was such a pleasure to deal with them.

We had a beautiful scene that we couldn't imagine.You can get an amazing experience if you go there.We stayed here for five days and they provided us with everything we needed. They have a very good staff.And we can get all the food and drinks we need from them

We spent two nights in this wonderful place and we even extended one night. We had a perfect room with an amazing view, comfortable chairs at the balcony, nice clean bathroom and free water. The breakfast was good and even my extra wish for a roti, they arrangend it. We also ate one night there and looked a bit over the cook's shoulder. It was really good! And now the best: the two boy's which managed everything. They are so kind and welcoming!! Thank you for the wonderful and probably best stay in Srilanka :)

First thing to memtion was that there is only one word for the view from this place - incredible.  It really does look like the pictures.  The location is also great, a short 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride to the main street. One of the great things here is the staff are all nice however a special mention and thanks has to go to Prianta.  He was always very happy and smiling and was a mine of good information on where to go and what to see.  He always tried to help and accomodate us and for that we are grateful. If you decide to eat at the hotel I would highly recommemd the rotti/roll, it was easily one of the best thinga we had in Sri Lanka. The room was also very comfortable with a good shower, mosquito nets and amazing views over the valleys.  There was no AC however at this elevation there was no need for it. If you need it, the hotel can also arrange trips to see the main things around Ella and can give you a TukTuk ride to the centre for a small fee. There was nothing that we didn't really like, I would just be aware that there are around 15-20 steps down to the hotel and therefore if you are unable to go up or down stairs then this may not be for you however the owners may have another access that we did not know about. Overall, a highly enjoyable stay and would definately recommend it to others if staying in Ella.

Great hotel! Great views! The hotel is located just over the best views in the area. The food was excellent (even for us, that we are vegetarians). The place is very clean and tidy. The staff were very polite , warm, friendly and helpful

Great guest house! Walking distance from the main Ella street. Helpful staff, particularly Piryantha. The staff organized day trips for us with good prices. Dinner is available at the hotel. Would highly recommend!

Located out of the busy main street on the hill. 10 minute drive on tuk tuk into town. ($2AUD). The view from our room was amazing. Wifi can be temperamental at times and poor TV reception. Nil air conditioning but fans in room make up for it. Very affordable, accommodating staff and lovely Sri Lankan home cooked meals. Would recommend it, and safe for a female travelling solo. The hotel will give you one complimentary return ride into town each day.

A wonderful place to which I will definitely return. Due to the road trip, we were in 6 different places (hotels) for two weeks. This one was definitely the best of them all. It is second to none in terms of food quantity and deliciousness, fruits and dishes. The breakfast is huge and delicious. The beds are super comfortable until it's hard to get out of them. Everything is very close (we walked everywhere) and thanks to the kindness of Piryantha we were able to see much more than we planned. In addition, he took care of our full bellies.
