Join the two-day course, "Casting & Sculpture in Jesmonite," on Saturday, February 3rd, and Sunday, February 4th, 2024. This course, held at the London Sculpture Workshop, offers an introduction to working with Jesmonite, a versatile material that can replicate the appearance and texture of various surfaces such as stone, wood, leather, and fabric. Through hands-on activities, participants will learn how to construct geometric and curved forms, create decorative effects using pigment, and mimic other materials and textures using Jesmonite. This course is suitable for all levels, including beginners, and will cover techniques such as mold making, coloring Jesmonite, laminating, and casting hollow objects. Additionally, the course will explore various stone finishes using the cementitious Jesmonite casting system. Basic materials are included in the course cost of £295, with the option to purchase additional Jesmonite if needed. Please note that a one-hour lunch break will be provided each day, and participants are required to wear protective clothing. Health and safety briefing will be given.
