First time I arrived I thought it was a little outdated. Then when I saw the room doors they look strange too, but I could easily walk past that. Room needs some renovation or upgrade. One of the front office staff were not even giving off smile (the male one), but yeah I didn’t want to give him too much attention. Didn’t try their breakfast buffet so I cannot comment on that. Tried their soto ayam dish a la carte and it was quite comforting. There was snacks provided, that was well appreciated. Also the housekeeping lady was nice and polite. Overall I may have to put this hotel as a second option next time I’m coming to Surabaya.

The room is quite spacious and offers a great city view. The Smart TV is available, but it only supports YouTube and Netflix, with no other streaming options. The interior appears to need some refreshing, as there are visible signs of wear and tear on the wallpaper. The bathroom also requires more thorough cleaning; the bathtub water was yellowish, which was unpleasant. Breakfast offers a wide variety of options, but the overall taste was average.

Dịch vụ là tuyệt vời, họ tốt bụng, lịch sự và hữu ích. Cười không bao giờ bỏ mặt của họ và họ luôn cố gắng giúp đỡ nhanh chóng. Bữa sáng rất tuyệt, ngon, và sự lựa chọn càng tuyệt vời hơn, họ có rất nhiều loại thức ăn Indonesia. Phòng có kích thước tuyệt vời, sàn được quét rõ ràng, phòng tắm sạch sẽ, tiện nghi đầy đủ ( mang theo máy sấy tóc bcs cái họ có không tuyệt vời như vậy). Nhưng thất vọng với các bạn dọn dẹp, mình dùng cái gạo và kính ngày 1 và họ còn không phiền dọn dẹp, chỉ đặt ở điểm bình thường. Mình cố ”nói” lại vào ngày hôm sau mà họ vẫn chưa dọn gì 🥲🥲

The location is super convenient, just right opposite the Tunjungan Plaza. The staff are polite and greet us with a smile whenever they see us. The room is clean and the bed is so comfortable. My only suggestion is maybe they can provide bathrobes in the rooms.

NNS30Baobab Safari Resort is located quite far from Surabaya city centre, but it is definitely worth the approximately 1-hour drive from Surabaya Airport. We booked two connecting rooms, both with balconies. We were assigned to Level 4, and the view was absolutely magnificent, overlooking Mount Arjuno and Mount Welirang. Waking up to the mountain scenery was truly refreshing. Cooling weather, fresh air and beautiful scenery. Food Experience The highlight of the meals was the Nasi Rawon. The beef was very tender—soft and melt-in-the-mouth—and the soup was rich and flavourful. The portion size was generous. Other food items were acceptable but nothing particularly outstanding. For breakfast, however, the buffet spread was rather limited, especially in terms of meat and protein options. Room & Amenities The room itself looked decent but slightly dated. That said, the beautiful view more than compensated for it. One important note: do stock up on your own bottled water before arriving. The hotel uses refillable glass bottles, and unfortunately, the wooden covers of the glass containers appeared very mouldy, which was quite off-putting. Activities & Environment There are plenty of activities available. A walk through the Enchanted Forest thats full of pine trees and feeding area for Capybara, Lama, Sheep is possible, though you’ll need to take a buggy from another area. The Safari Zoo is located separately but can be arranged by the hotel. Animals around the hotel can be fed according to scheduled timings. Waterbucks, however, can be fed with carrots 🥕, which were provided by the hotel on the day of check-in. The lobby and dining areas were a standout—beautifully designed and facing the roaming animals while still maintaining a safe boundary within their designated area. Animal Welfare I have always been quite sceptical about zoo animals in Indonesia due to past negative experiences, where animal welfare did not seem well cared for. However, Baobab Safari Resort truly changed my perspective. The environment is clean, the animals appear well fed, and I frequently saw zookeepers actively present in the animal areas, feeding hay and grass to the zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, and giraffes. It was reassuring and heartening to see such care and commitment. This experience made me believe that proper education and responsible management really do help build a better environment for zoo animals. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable stay for my family.

NNightmaremareThe Junior suite was very spacious but the furnishing could make a little more sense. For example the bedside table was just a round table without any drawers. The bathtub water outlet protruded to half the width of the bathtub and was a danger for little kid's head. Body lotion, which we expected to be a basic amenity, was not available even when requested. Breakfast was a good spread but protein choices were very limited. There are some kid activities but all with separate charges.

TTài khoản kháchThe location is perfect for seeing Mount Bromo without hiking. The restaurant has a wide range of food. And the cabin is clean and has necessary amenities. The staff are very friendly and helpful!  We go to Bromo with elderly but still able to walk - parent and we also went hiking. If you like to see nature - you would right in the middle directly from your cabin! You can see the farm planting - the horse frolicking around their land.  The location is 10 minutes walk to Mentigen Hill and on the rim, so you ca just see Mount Bromo right in front of you.

MMrEmzThe location is just off the main street running through Malang, makes the hotel less affected by traffic noise. One of the minor drawbacks of this hotel is the lobby drop off area and minimal availability of parking onsite. The friendliness and helpful customer service can be felt as you step into the hotel, from the security to the receptionist and workers all radiating warm smiles. Our check in process was smooth, we were assisted to find an available room for early check-in before 1pm . The restaurant staff was also attentive and courteous. The hotel felt relatively new, only a couple years old and in great shape. The bedroom had semi firm but comfortable mattrass, with abundant pillows. Delightfully we got a 55” LG Smart Tv, with the to-date streaming services available (Netflix, Disney, Prime, Vidio, Youtube) and also cable tv showing international channels (AXN, Japanese, Arabic, etc). The room felt very cosy for resting after a long day's work or travel. The bathroom, although only had showers and no bathtub, gave great water pressure and hot water. The only complaint from the hotel is perhaps due to the connecting door, we can hear the other room's door closing and opening loudly as well as some talking from the other room. Hotel had an interesting gym for good workout, rooftop cafe/restaurant. Didnt try any of those facilities for this trip but hopefully for my next trip. This is my second stay at 101 and look forward to returning again. Also, right across the hotel is a Sara Bakery, which serves good cakes and bakery products, and has a full restaurant menu also.
