During holy month of ramadan, Putra Mosque (aka Pink Mosque) is organised iftar (breaking fast) with non Muslim friend. It's a great opportunity for us as a non Muslim to join Muslim friend activist and increase the understanding of Islamic Culture. Most importantly, it's FOC! Everyone is welcome. Once arrive to Putra Mosque, we are greeted with a warm welcome by the volunteers from the mosque and escort us to auditorium to attend a talk regarding Why fasting during Ramadan. We are given welcome gift. (water, dates, photo frame, hand fan) There is volunteers from all over the world, the one who escorts us is from Egypt and later there is mosque tourist guide (from China) explain Islamic and Putra Mosque information to us. Japanese guide is available too, so there is no language barrier for the tourist. The talk start with why and what is the benefit of fasting and then end after Q&A. After this we are guided to the main prayer hall, the guide is very responsive and he is try to explain all the question we asked. Then we go to the dining area to break fast with everyone. Vegetarian food is prepared for those who do not take meat.
