Sipping Yuzu Matcha and Enjoying the Aesthetic at Nikko Yoryo
#favouriteitinerary We’ve been to Nikko Yoryo a few times now, and each visit feels like a little escape into a cozy, aesthetic space. With its blend of modern and traditional Japanese-inspired decor, the café really sets the right mood—whether we’re here for a quiet meal or just to relax with a drink. The ambiance is inviting, with a mix of industrial and calming elements, making it a great place to unwind.
The menu has a good selection of Japanese fusion dishes, from donburi to pasta, but we’re always drawn to the refreshing drinks, like their Yuzu soda and the Yuzu Matcha. The Yuzu Matcha we tried was a standout. The citrusy yuzu really balanced out the rich, earthy matcha, creating a smooth, refreshing drink that wasn’t too sweet and had just the right amount of tang. It complemented our meal perfectly and is definitely something we’d go back for when we’re craving something light and flavorful.
We’ve tried a few things here, and while some dishes hit the mark, we’ve had mixed experiences with the food quality. For example, the truffle fries didn’t quite live up to expectations, coming out soggy rather than crispy. But the drinks, like the Yuzu Matcha and lychee matcha, have always been a hit, though we’ve noticed the lychee matcha can be a little grainy at times.
Despite a few small hiccups with the food, the vibe and the overall experience at Nikko Yoryo keep us coming back. Whether we’re there for the delicious drinks or just to enjoy the atmosphere, it’s always a great spot to relax and hang out.
