Nestled within the Singapore arts hub, the Esplanade, this humble restaurant is called Old School Delights serving authentic Singaporean cuisine from our childhood! It truly brings back memories and feelings of nostalgia eating here as the food on the menu is very similar to what Singaporeans grew up eating in schools. Prior to the pandemic, they also had little games like five stones, donkey card sets and mini chess available for customers to relive their childhood classic games. However, they seem to have removed that. Nevertheless, it’s an excellent place to enjoy our favourite comfort meals like a blast from the past! Its an open space restaurant that can seat up to 15 tables. 🍽🍽 They also have a private area covered by curtains and a bar serving drinks 🍹 Perfect dinner location if you’re catching a show at the esplanade singapore Menu - The menu is unique consisting of fusion curated dishes inspired by local Malay food Highlights - The highlights for me was among the appetisers, their TMC satay, mango chicken🍗 and king prawns 🍤 were phenomenally prepared and bursting with flavour. As for the mains, i got the Bangers and mash that had just the perfect portion of protein, cards and veggies to balance out each other Avg. For any of the coffee fanatics to add to your coffee place would be his little small cafe known as Sanity Coffee Bar located in our iconic durian shell known as Esplanade Mall Limited choices here but the coffee was great, not acidic at all and has a smooth aftertaste. The chocolate cake was good too and it goes well with their big 1 scoop of vanilla gelato I love how they "espress" themselves through their coffee and art. They even have free postcards for the customers to take home! You can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air or relax inside. They serve tasty food and drinks and on some nights, there’s a DJ playing music. It felt like a little escape right in the heart of the city. What really stood out to us was the unique opportunity to customize our açaí bowls with unlimited toppings. The freedom to choose exactly what we wanted made the experience so much more enjoyable. From fresh fruits like strawberries and bananas to crunchy granola, chia seeds, and a variety of drizzles, the options seemed endless. We were able to craft a bowl that was just right for us, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The pricing at The BerrySpot was another pleasant surprise. We found that it was based on the cup size, which made it an affordable option for a satisfying treat. Plus, the bowls were generously sized, so we definitely felt like we were getting our money’s worth. After placing our orders, we decided to take our bowls to the nearby waterfront promenade.
