#celebratewithtrip visited Capitol theatre and this is located in Singapore city hall . the nearest train station is city hall and available in both green and red lines. the theatre is actually very nice and the exterior of it somehow reminds me of retro vibes and I really liked it. in the theatre it looks very grand as well and I believe performances are being held and conducted here. examples could be musical performances. nearby there are also many food options available here so you won’t have to worry about being hungry. they may be pricey though. otherwise you can head to funan mall which is just beside and you can find cheaper options there.

At one end you will find famous shopping centres such as Raffles City Shopping Centre, while just next to them you will find iconic historical building like our Capitol Theatre, Supreme Court, National Gallery Singapore and Chijmes etc. For visitors visiting this place for the first time, I will highly recommend to first allocate time to visit the historical places as you will learn and see a lot about the history of Singapore here, including stories about how this buildings were related to the World War II. When night falls, this place turns into a entertainment district with many bars and restaurants around the area. You will also find beautiful lights on the building showcasing a really beautiful scene of Singapore! #cityscapes

#favouriteitinerary Capitol Theatre is a very popular place in Singapore. The original building looks very vintage due to its history. To get to here, you can take the underpass directly connected to the City Hall MRT. It is very beautifully decorated, Singapore truly gives justice to their landmarks!! This place usually holds smaller concerts, although not as big of a venue - it still is good enough to enjoy the time there!! It might be an old building but it’s rather kept very clean and tidy. I think the age is also the charm because it’s more difficult to come accords places like this with history rather than finding a “modern” theatre!! They also have a more modern looking building beside with great food options as well. If you ever happen to go there, I hope you’ll have the best time of your life!!

Now, after some renovations over years, it still looks high-class but in a neo-classical and vintage style. At this time, the building is being functioned as a venue for concert, convention and wedding. The closest metro station is City Hall Station and it’s a minute walking away from the station.

Located in the city centre, Capitol Theatre and its adjacent buildings are conserved by the government because of their national heritage. Built in the early 1900s, the details and facades of these buildings have largely remained intact. The architecture is beautiful and intricate, reminding us of Singapore’s colonial roots. Now, these buildings have been refreshed for commercial purposes. There are restaurants, entertainment and even a hotel within these buildings! Save this for your itinerary when you visit Singapore.
