My Hua Hin 1 day trip began with a visit to Tham Khao Luang Cave in Phetchaburi province. This cave is located on Klong mountain with an altitude of 92m, it is currently the largest cave in Phetchaburi.
At the foot of the mountain there is a temple called Wat Thamklaep, you can visit this place before visiting the cave. To reach the cave, you need to walk down about 100 steps of stair. I came here early at around 9am and my first impression of the cave was that it's very spacious, peaceful and contains so many Buddha statues. There are about 170 Buddha statues here and the largest one is a reclining Buddha. Also the cave has lighting system plus the space for natural sunlight to shine through so you won't feel dark inside.
You can buy flowers from the flower vendor inside the cave If you want pay respect to the Buddha.
A special thing about this cave is that at noon, the sun's rays will shine through the cave dome and illuminate the Buddha statues here, creating a very beautiful effect. So be sure to come here around 12pm to capture this moment.
Small note: Tham Khao Luang is a temple cave, so dress appropriately, cover your shoulders and knees.
