Hilltop temple in downtown Phnom Penh

Wat Phnom, which means "mountain temple," is one of Phnom Penh's oldest temples. The ambiance is tranquil and peaceful from atop a 27-meter-high man-made hill. The temple is wonderfully lit after nightfall. Wat Phnom is made up of multiple shrines, a viharn, and a big chedi. The temple has been rebuilt and refurbished multiple times over the years, the most recent being in 1926.
