Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park

One of a rich variety of cultural facilities and gardens in central Kuala Lumpur, the Butterfly Garden is a large open area surrounded by hanging mesh to keep the insects contained. A matrix of surfaced paths weave through lush greens, fountains, and pools. Gaggles of butterflies flicker through the air and vegetation while feeding on flowers and trays with tropical fruits and hibiscus petals sprayed with diluted honey to attract and feed the butterflies. These trays are along the paths and afford close examination and easy photos. Pools in the gardens are home to fish, frogs, and turtles. Inside the entrance building are exhibits highlighting the butterflies as well as other insects of Malaysia. The exhibits could use a refresh, but are still very interesting. #malaysia
