It's just a short 20-minute hike uphill from the Royal Palace—a bit steep but totally doable if you take it slow. If you're not up for walking, you can also take a cab the long way around by road. Either way, it's worth the trip. We were practically the only ones there, which made the whole place feel peaceful and untouched. While you can't go inside the temple itself, exploring the grounds and the crumbling old castle walls is amazing. The complex is bigger than it looks from below, with little paths leading to different viewpoints. But the real reason to come? The view. Standing by the colorful prayer flags with all of Leh spread out below you is unbeatable—probably the best panorama in town. Go around sunset when the light hits the mountains just right. It's the perfect quiet escape after seeing the busier Royal Palace below. A great spot if you want to feel like you've discovered something special without the crowds. Just bring water for the walk up!
