War Remnants Museum - Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

This museum invites Western tourists to look at the Vietnam War from a different angle - they will learn here something different from what they are used to seeing and hearing. The Museum was opened in 1975 and was originally called the Museum of the History of American War Crimes. The museum received its current name in 1995 after relations between the United States and Vietnam normalized. Most of the exhibits are related to the events of the Vietnam War, but there are also those that relate to the period of the struggle of the Vietnamese people against the French colonialists. The museum courtyard is filled with various types of captured military equipment, including American artillery pieces, armored vehicles and infantry weapons.
