Hotel Limmatblick

Be warned… you will pay the same price but it’s a game of chance that you’ll get a half decent room. We have stayed twice, the first time I was impressed and happy but the second trip I was completely appalled. Room 41 is absolutely horrendous with exposed plaster and mould in the bathroom and unpainted walls in the bedroom. Due to the state of the bathroom, we asked for an alternative room. I couldn’t bear to even think about taking my shoes off to walk in that bathroom (see photos). They moved us to their last remaining room (room 34) which was an improvement. I cannot believe this hotel is STILL putting people in unfinished and mouldy rooms as I read a review from 2022 complaining of this exact room and there being a leak/flooding. It’s a DISGRACE for the price you pay to stay. The photos should be enough to make you think before booking here… unless the hotel does something about the prices at booking or at the very least to be transparent with customers BEFORE arrival!!! 😡

We were only staying for one night and we were looking for a bed and a bathroom in a good location and that's what we got. There were not any low budget hotels near the train station available so we ended up here. The reservation said the check in was 12:00 but when we got there they told us the room would not be available until 2:00pm. If we had known this we would have stayed a little longer at the airport lounge to which we had access. The room was small with no air conditioning and we had a nice view of the river. We could open the windows to cool down the room and they did a good job of keeping the noise from the street out. The bathroom was small and bare minimum with a small shower, toilet, and sink that were functional. The TV was the size of a postage stamp and not functional in any way. No breakfast service. There is a small bar on the ground floor which we didn't use but they did provide us with some ice. Bottom line the only thing this hotel has going is the location but there are better options for the $200+ we paid for one night. The rating is based on a lack of anything, the relatively high cost, and location.

This is a budget hotel with many positives. Our room was very large, had an excellent fridge, airconditioning, a large and spotlessly clean shower and a lovely view over the river. The location was excellent, a short walk to the main Zurich station, Lake Zurich and water boats with a tram station right outside. Bars and restaurants abound nearby and the hotel's own bar had a good vibe. On the negative side, it was weird that the hotel reception was also a busy bar which was noisy at night. Don't forget to lock your door. If you wanted to open the window it would have been difficult to sleep with music and transport but for the location, price and room I think it would be hard to beat.

I loved this place. Riverfront location just a few hundred meters from the central train station. Easily walkable. Close to Old Town and Tour bases. Comfortable room. Not a 5 star hotel, but we weren't paying for 5 stars. A bit hard to find as the lobby is actually a bar. BEST HOTEL CHECK-IN DESK EVER. Room overlooked the riverfront and was just steps from a number of restaurants and nightclubs. We will come back to Zurich and this will be our number one choice of hotel.

L'accoglienza non è delle migliori e più che di una reception possiamo parlare del bancone di un bar (infatti la sala da cui si accede in hotel è un bar dalle 7 alle 22). La camera è piccola, con l'essenziale, ma manca di un frigobar, e il televisore, piccolo, è posizionato in una specie di nicchia e può essere visto solo da una parte del letto. Evitare la colazione. Il personale è poco attento alle richieste e poco interessato agli ospiti. Ho avuto la sensazione quasi di essere sgradito.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral an der Limmat, sodass die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichbar sind. Befremdlich ist, dass die Rezeptionistinnen offenbar kein Deutsch sprechen und auch nicht sonderlich bemüht waren. Das Zimmer selbst war sauber, das Mobiliar in die Jahre gekommen und der Fernseher nicht angeschlossen. Das war von einem Gast vor uns bereits schriftlich bemängelt worden, ohne Erfolg. Fazit: für eine Nacht okay, aber definitiv nicht länger bei einer Zimmerrate von ＞200 €
