Budgetel Inn & Suites

Our room did not look good. The bed headboards were all ripped up. We could not understand why they were even there they looked so bad. The numbers were falling off the door. The bed would try to spring you off while you slept. The bathroom was ok and the hot water was fine. The TV worked fine. But with the choices around I would not stay there again.

I was stranded in Yuma during Hurricane Hilary, thick dust blowing, making it impossible to drive. I had to eat my hotel reservation in Mexico and miss my dental appointment in the morning. So I chose this spot as the CHEAPEST and got what I paid for, and less! Bugs are swarming all over the bathroom. Fascinating, because house centipedes and cockroaches seem to be *communicating*! The bath water never even runs warm, but the air conditioning is set to FREEZING and no way to change it. No extra blankets, I doubled the bedspread and wore my clothes to bed. There's a minifridge & microwave, but no inroom coffee, no breakfast offered, and I think a lot of the rooms are extended stay, meaning either moms and kids on the run, people drying out or overwrought disabled veterans. The kid at the desk was pleasant. The bed seems clean, which is great because every other inch of this town is coated with dust, a la Mad Max.

The only good thing about this place is the location. Came to Yuma for the Bull of the Desert strongman competition. Got to the hotel about one PM and asked for downstairs rooms since my friend has problems negotiating stairs. I was informed we would have to wait as the downstairs rooms weren't ready yet. So we opted for the upstairs rooms. After I give I.D and am checked in now we're told we can't get into the rooms until 3PM. I said that made no sense and was informed that no hotel in Yuma would like you check in before 3PM. I didn't figure I'd get anywhere talking to the snobbish, rude desk so we just decided to wait a few hours. Finally get into the rooms at 3 and my plan was to use the bathroom as a sauna to make weight for the competition. No way as the shower wouldn't heat up even after 20 minutes of running it. Lastly on our second night there our neighbors were loudly playing there radio at three AM. I let the office know and they called the room. Radio was quickly turned down which led to a drunken fight between them. Which the office did nothing about. Fortunately the guy left after about ten minutes of fighting/arguing. And I almost forgot the pool was closed also. Pay a few extra dollars and stay anywhere else.

Checked in found bugs in room dead live. Room was overbooked. Staff was very rude and not helpful. Overall Jacuzzi Room was over booked and the room was unsatisfied. The room was filthy. Staff would not refund and was not helpful to fix the issues.

I booked a room here for my daughter and a friend who were in town for the Art show. They checked into their room and immediately found live and dead cockroaches and other bugs around the bed. They killed about 20 in their 2 night stay. I do not recommend anyone stay here!
