The location of the hotel is perfect, because it gets you to the train station in less than 5 minute walk, and it’s 5 mn walk from the York Minster and the city center, without the business of the central streets. The rooms are very spacious, and (surprisingly) modern! The spa could use some renovation, but I think this is the best option in York :)

Amazing hotel!!! If you’re in York, staying here is a must. It’s so elegant and luxurious. The staff is super friendly and the service is excellent. Facilities are gorgeous and spacious, and you’re dead center of York, walking distance from everything.

The Grand is located in the middle of the town centre. It is just a 5-10mins walk from the Shambles market. We stayed at the suite and the room was massive with two separate toilets. We dined at the hotel main restaurant and I would describe the food as modern British with a Yorkshire twist, simply gorgeous combination.

nice location,good service,we got a lovely couple update there,got a yorkshire relaxation, it was a warmly experience there and in york, but because of tight schedule, we regretted not taking a massage there. hope we could visit york again

My 11 year old son and I stayed at The Grand in York for two nights for sightseeing. There is an NCP car park on the same street, which gets patrons 10% discount and it secure. It’s about 12 minutes walk to York Minster Cathedral and about the same to Jorvik Viking Centre-utterly perfect location! The hotel is beautiful and staff are professional, but friendly and we’re super attentive to my overly keen and chatty son!❤️☺️ The pool is lovely and has a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna with treatment rooms. We also stumbled across The Cookery School, so we booked a Parent/Child 3 hour cookery lesson for £65 and made and ate Ravioli and Raspberry Semi-fresco-a new experience, but we are both sold and already looking to return! So much to see in beautiful York and this is the perfect location to do it from ❤️☺️

It was truly one of my best trips and it was only because of this hotel, everything was really wonderful and my wife and I were surprised by the hospitality of the staff and the beautiful atmosphere of the hotel. We strongly suggest that you stay in grand hotel even for one night .(:

I would book this hotel again if I ever came to York. The room is large and the bed is comfortable and clean
