Minshuku Miyama

Hosts are very warm, friendly and helpful. They even provide a shuttle service from and to the railway station beyond a fixed schedule. Outdoor onsen is lovely. The shared bathrooms are well maintained but pity the basin has no hot water for handwashing. Meals can be provided on request.

Super nice place to stay. Incredibly accommodating host. Breakfast is yummy. Definitely highly recommended.

Väldigt mysigt boende. Lite längre bort från shibu onsen och ger inte nyckel till alla badhusen. Men närmare snow monkey park och har en super mysig onsen i boendet. Jättetrevligt par som sköter allt och god japansk frukost.

我此行目的地是野猿公園，此民宿位圖一流，上山主人車到入口，回程步行下山回去15分鐘。 傳統日式民宿感，有露天風呂溫泉(另收每位Y300)。 稍差是附近是沒配套的，晚飯最遲7點吃，否則沒地方可吃，亦沒便利店可買，只有汽水機。 飯後就是洗澡然後睡覺。

One of the best things we did in Japan! A truly authentic experience. Amazing hosts (not much English but enough) who collected us from the station and dropped us to the Snow Monkeys (only a 10 min walk away). Incredible food. We loved the outdoor onsen, piping hot coupled with the snowy air. No tourists, just locals using it. This is not a glossy hotel, so there are shared toilets which was fine. Our futons were so comfortable and cosy. Highly recommend.

Minshuku Miyama is a medium walk from Shiba Onsen Main Street. you can get there from Nagano Station and catch the local line to Yudanaka and a short bus trip drops you right outside- mention the place and the driver will know where to stop. The husband and wife owners are friendly and kind, welcoming us like family. They do not speak English but you will have a great time. Trad breakfast is provided and you can eat in for the evening meal at and extra cost. The food was delicious and plentiful. There are male and female outdoor onsen (included). It is a 20-25 minute walk the the Snow Monkey Park that would be great to do in winter (bring shoes for shloshy pathways) We stayed in mid November 2023 - plenty of monkeys and a few bathing but to see this at its best winter would be the best time when there is plenty of snow. In and around Shiba Onsen can be pretty quite especially on the weekends. Well worth the trip.

A very relaxing and peaceful place to stay. Best part is definitely the amazing onsen!! Natural water on stone, and they don’t care about tattoos. Loved it.

Beautiful minshuku within walking distance to Shibu onsen Main Street. The staff are friendly and kind, welcoming us like family. Food was delicious and plentiful. The star of the stay was the absolutely amazing outdoor onsen! Would be better if the room has blackout curtains but that is a small quibble

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Minshuku Miyama. The bus stops right in front (bus stop S10 Kutsunomimyo). The owners are extremely welcoming, eventhough they don't speak any English. You can book in for dinner if you want (traditional dinner for 2200 yen p/p, which is a absolute delight and highly recommend). Japanese breakfast is included in price. The onsen is spacious and therapeutic after a long day hiking. Traditional spacious Japanese room. The owner drove us and others to station, when we left. Highly recommend staying here.
