It is a beautiful hotel with a view of the sea. The service was always available and responded quickly to whatever need I had.

Superb hotel with amazing sea view

Hotel splendido, struttura antica con affacci sulla passeggiata di Viareggio. Camere che rispettano lo stile dell’edificio con il comfort della modernità. Servizio impeccabile e staff cortese e disponibile a soddisfare ogni richiesta del cliente. Colazioni stellari, ricche e per ogni gusto ed esigenza. riuscita a mantenere il mio regime alimentare senza dover chiedere indicazioni particolari. Era tutto a disposizione. Piscina circondata dal verde del parco dell’albergo, con bagnino a disposizione e bar per lunch leggeri da consumare direttamente sul posto. Parco tenuto in maniera impeccabile ricco di fiori e piante. Finalmente ho avverato il mio sogno da bambina di soggiornare in questo fantastico hotel e la realtà ha superato di gran lunga la fantasia. Grazie di questi due giorni meravigliosi.

Gentilezza cura e grande attenzione verso il cliente sua da parte dell’hotel sia dallo stabilimento balneare convenzionato con l’hotel tanto da rendere speciale e godersi anche un solo giorno di vacanza!

Ottima struttura

Fabulous hotel and staff, spacious comfortable bedroom with glorious sea view. The restaurant could have been better so we took all our meals at any of the dozens of lovely promenade restaurants within a few minutes walk. We shall definitely return to this super hotel.

Wonderful hotel, very grand. The outside gardens and pool area are lovely, very relaxing. Would definitely recommend staying here. We had a sea view room without a balcony, lovely to wake up in the morning open the curtains and take in the beach view.

We saw this hotel during a day trip to Viareggio and couldn't wait to stay there. We decided to book direct with the hotel as we wanted a balcony room with a sea view which was beautiful. It was bigger than we expected with plenty of storage space, a huge bathroom and of course the balcony with amazing views of the coastline. Breakfast was self service and there was everything we could want including fresh fruit, cereals, cheeses, hams, as well as hot food, pastries and cakes. The evening meal in the restaurant was even better with a great choice which changed each night. We only used the pool a couple of times as we prefer the beach but it was a lovely pool and the pool bar also served lovely food. We couldn't be happier with our stay and it's obviously popular as we talked to a lot of guests who had returned again and again, in one case for the 5th time. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here from 9th June for the last week of our 2.5 weeks in Italy because we had had such a great time here last year. I think this year was even better. We stayed in room 116 which is a sea view on the first floor. Very big with high ceilings and a very large bathroom, great air on although we chose to sleep with windows open which was great as could hear the sea and beautiful breeze. Our room was always spotless, the staff did a wonderful job. We stayed on half board this year after so many people telling us how good it was. It was better than we could imagine and loved having a buffet to start and then able to choose three course from an a la carte menu which was different every night with lots of choice. Breakfast was also wonderful, so much choice. All the waiting staff were fantastic. We always began the evening with a cocktail in the bar which is run by Nicola who is just wonderful. He definitely made the best aperol spritz of our entire holiday and we had a few! I wish I could remember his co workers name, she is also fantastic. Loved the pool which is huge and warm enough to swim, never busy. The Anitta beach was included and we loved it and we went there every day. Great little bar/restaurant where coffee was only a euro. The sea was just so good, great waves. Just had the most wonderful time and can’t wait to go back. Thanks for such a great time.

Very nice grand hotel with a taste of luxury. High ceilings, white cobblestones at the entrance. Nice salongs, bars and garden area as well as the pool (not crowded) and acces to a private beach. Very good breakfast and service all the way. On the less than perfect side was the food at lunch/dinner but we might have been unlucky(?), and the beds are really firm (hard), but that can be good if you like it hard!

The Grand Hotel Royal is ageing gracefully and still retains the style and quality of its opulent past. Food was first class and offered up with a good (and very reasonable) wine list. All of the staff were attentive, efficient and clearly loved their jobs - nothing seemed to be any trouble at all. Nicola’s home made limoncello was the perfect digestif after dinner ! Perfect hotel with fantastic staff - it could not have been a better holiday.

First class hotel in an excellent location with choice of private beach or pool. Friendly and helpful staff and great restaurant. Station only a few minutes walk away giving easy access to Florence, Pisa and Lucca.

This is our second stay at this wonderful hotel. There amazing staff throughout the hotel who are attentive, friendly and yet nothing is too much trouble as they always aim to assist and please in any way they can. The whole hotel is spotless with comfortable rooms that have nice touches. The food is delicious and you really are spoilt for choice. There is a fabulous breakfast room and a lovely outdoor dining area for evening meals. The pool and gardens are beautiful and relaxing with plenty of seating and loungers. This is an amazing hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it.

What an amazing hotel. From start to finish we had such a wonderful experience. Firstly, the staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you. A warm welcome on arrival, a fabulous and spotlessly clean room (as are all areas of the hotel), food to die for with an attentive, friendly and incredibly professional restaurant team (a special mention to Anna and Angelica). The breakfasts were fabulous with so much choice and the evening meals were varied and delicious. The grounds are beautiful, the pool inviting, with a nice bar area. The hotel is well placed for exploring Viareggio and further afield to Florence and Lucca and beyond. We are counting the days when we can return. Thank you for having us.
