Hotel Mezzo Pozzo

I made a booking for this hotel back in September 2022 as we (my wife, 3 kids and I) wanted to go to Venice to see the Carnival. I made the booking well in advance because I know how busy it gets. 3 days before arriving they unilaterally cancelled my reservation and sold the room to someone else. I tried to call them a number of times but they did not answer. I sent them an email, to which they replied and told me that at busy times they do not answer the phone. They told me by email they had sold the room and there was nothing they could do. I have never seen anything like this in 30 years of travelling. Stay away.

The location is good, and the staff was friendly. One of the main problems was the absence of an elevator. The room was old and small for 5 people, window was broken, the door did not close properly, the furniture was old and broken, the breakfest was very poor, the bathroom floods. The price was similar to another better Hotels. Anyway, try another option.

Cancelled our booking 3 days before our arrival. They said they couldn't process my card. The card had more than enough funds to cover the booking. I changed my card on *********** and this was just ignored. Don't book this hotel avoid any disappointment

This was a nice place to rest after a day of exploring Venice. At first it was quite hard to find but eventually we found it and we’re greeted by a nice woman who checked us in. The hotel is quite old but has a nice charm and a great old European style which hasn’t been modernised, it’s central to everything and is tucked away down a little lane. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and we could store our baggage as we had a night flight home. Overall this is a good hotel for people on a budget like me who is a student :)

Friendly helpful very impressive

Very suitable lodging with friendly staff. They leave you alone for the most part but are available when needed. They were very good on the front-end (proactive) about telling us the best way to get from the airport to them — no problems! There’s nothing fancy about the place but it’s comfortable, in a great location (max 15 min walk to anything) and a good value. For a family of 4 it was great bc we didn’t need to get 2 rooms.

We wish we had seen the reviews properly before booking that awful place. Few days before we arrived they cancelled our booking because of a card problem (as they apparently did with many others before), we called TWICE to make sure that we still had a room. THEN Rebooked a room and received an email of confirmation. Today we arrived from abroad with a 4 years old and they had rebooked our room to somebody else, not a single care in the world. And completely rude as well, not even trying to help, absolutely unpleasant people . My opinion is that they sell cheaper rooms on *********** to make sure they are full at all times, and if somebody else wants to book a room with them at full price they just cancel the booking that they sold for a cheaper price and sell it to the highest bidder. This place is a scam. Honestly save yourself some time and trouble go ANYWHERE else.

It was an excellent experience. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Special thanks to Mr Matteo and Alessia who were very helpful especially when we were in need. They are great people and gave us an excellent service. Highly recommend this hotel!

Beautiful city, good location to walk pretty much everywhere on the island. Sadly for almost £900 for five nights in a junior suite, we were a little disappointed to see easily fixable issues. We won't be back to this b&b.
