Scalon del Doge

This is an amazing place to stay! It is a 13 Century Palace converted into a hotel that is charming, comfortable, spotlessly clean with an amazing staff and breakfast complete with fresh made croissants each morning. They communicated with us before arrival and even alerted us to the fact that there was a waterbus strike on our day of arrival. They provided alternative ways to get to the hotel and even phoned us when we were a bit later than expected to be sure we were not lost. We were given a map of Venice complete with tips on things to do and restaurants they recommended. They helped us with water taxi reservations for an early morning commute to the airport. Breakfast items and a electric tea kettle were put in our room the day prior to leaving because of our 6 am departure. All in all we would highly recommend the Scalon del Doge for your next visit. We loved it!

Everything was incredible. The decor of the room was beautiful. The location is very convenient and close to everything you need. Breakfast was delicious and varied.m and served by a friendly woman who went above and beyond. The check in was simple and Alessandra took the time to explain Venice on a map, some spots we should know about, and when we asked some questions she went into further detail about Art History and history in Venice (my mum studied art history so absolutely loved this). She answered all our tourist questions, getting to the airport, getting the gondola etc. and gave us some restaurant recommendations that were the best meals we had in Italy. Daily biscuits in your room. She even arranged breakfast for our early departure. Couldn’t speak more highly of Scalon Del Doge!!

Great location, friendly helpful staff, beautiful decor, clean and tiny room, perfect location for our short stay trip. No faults from us... Breakfast overlooking grand canal was pretty special too ❤️

Grazie Mille Alessandra! Scalon del Doge is the gem of Venice. Located just a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge. It is hidden away down one of the many alleys of Venice but has a wonderful view of the canal from the front, which you can also see from the window at breakfast. From Scalon del Doge everything was within walking distance (Piazza San Marco, boats to Murano and Burano). The breakfast each morning was wonderful. Alessandra has everything you'd want from a bed and breakfast (even gluten free/senza glutine). The room was beautiful. Really unique and different. If you watch by the window, you will see Gondolas floating by every so often! The rooms were cleaned everyday (as well as sanitised before our arrival). Fresh towels were also provided everyday. Alessandra and her staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about Venice. They are full of advice and tips and where to go. On arrival they had booked us into a viewing point of the Rialto bridge. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Scalon del Doge for your trip to Venice.

Had a wonderful stay here in June 2023. Alessandra and staff were extremely helpful, before and during our stay, giving spot on instructions to find the hotel and recommedations for things to do and places to eat. We went on a tour with Alessandra who provided lots of really interesting information and showed us some great hidden gems we wouldn't have found without her. Room was really comfortable and luxurious, decor was amazing. Our room looked down onto the canal with gondalas passing by. Breakfast in the hotel looked out onto the Grand Canal, the apricot croissant was a favourite! Fresh biscuits and water provided in our room. Location was great, a short walk to the Rialto Bridge and water stop. Overall a fantastic stay, couldn't rate it high enough.

There is absolutely nothing NOT to love about the Scalone del Doge! Perfect, central but quiet location, breathtaking views, clean and unique rooms. Alessandra and team were just wonderful and gave our stay a one of a kind and personal touch! We will definitely be back and recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a unique and amazing experience in beautiful Venice ! Thank you Alessandra!!

This is hands down the best B&B I have ever stayed at. The hospitality was incredible as was the food and location. If I am blessed enough to return to Venice I would not even consider staying at another place! The room was comfortable and full of charm as was the entire place but what made it extra special was the Alessandra ! Thank you so much for such good memories !

Arrived with direction from vaparatto at Rialto stop. Felt like I was stepping back in time. Beautifully appointed room and breakfast room with antiques, decor of the baroque. Hand painted cabinet, murano glass chandeliers, super comfy bed and gracious kind host and staff. Lovely breakfast nook with a great spot to watch grocery deliveries in the morning from the dock. This 13th century building has been beautifully restored. Recommendations for walks, museums and outings were greatly appreciated. Oh, loved the snacks each afternoon on the tea tray in our room.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. In case you would like to feel a real Venice vibe you must stay there. Alexandra gave us very useful advice regarding sightseeing, so we visited unforgettable places.
