Daios Cove

We arrived at the hotel for five days, we bought a full board plan, the hotel is amazing in its beauty, the service is lovely, especially Nikos the manager, the food is excellent! The hotel is very clean, the pools are beautiful, the towels are clean. But I make a note that it cost us a lot of money. When we arrived, no one explained how the accommodation works. Unfortunately we had to ask every time and it ended up costing us a lot of money, hundreds of euros besides the high hotel costs. The program they sell is not explained and you only find out at the end that they charged you more money and that many other things are not included. I recommend the hotel to change the policy and be open with the customers, many staff members shared that this is the regular complaint of the customers. Hope things will be better next time.

Fantastic service, marvellous food! Very nice personal. We stay with family, and stuff were very kind to baby. Incredible sea and pool view from restaurant. There are two options get your breakfast in Daios and Ocean is a great one if you want to be treated like in restaurant!

We absolutely cherished our stay at Daios Cove. The staff were all so accommodating and caring towards our daughter - particularly Katarina and Anna in Pangea restaurant. The food was excellent and with so much choice! The rooms were luxurious and the beds so comfortable. The pool and beach were absolute bliss and we really lucked out with the weather. The gym is outstanding!!! The best gym I’ve experienced on a resort. I would happily go back to Daios Cove next year!

sadly disappointing, first day, will write another at the end but if you are about to book a Greek holiday of this nature, go to Sani club...Plus points of Daios so far....the gym is amazing & it is lovely to look at but the staff, other than on immediate arrival, are not very friendly. No one takes the time to explain how things work, wasn't offered the opportunity to order wine at our first dinner & water was not topped up. Booking any restaurant other than the buffet has to be done on the app & little availability before 9 or 9.30pm...if any at all. Thinking we will take our money & eat in Elounda tbh it just lacks any atmosphere ...it feels a bit dead 😪

Stayed for 9 nights from the 16th May in a Deluxe Ocean view room no. 533. This room was tucked away and so quiet. Daios Cove is an amazing resort in my view. Most of the rooms are not overlooked and because they are built up the sides of the cove you almost feel you are in a Village not a hotel. Fresh delicious food choices, and the service was excellent. A few points to be aware of before you choose to stay here. There are many steps to negotiate and although the resort is connected by a funicular, ideally you should be fit and well to get the most of the resort. There is nothing within walking distance of the hotel .Agios Nikolaos is about a 10 minute drive. The evening entertainment is very low key. There seemed to be more children than I have ever seen in any hotel I have stayed in. Mainly under 5’s as they are so well catered for.. but the Adult pool area is quite small and is right next to the main pool so there was constant crying and screeching. There is an adult area in the buffet restaurant but it felt soulless. We ate dinner in the Beach house the Taverna and The Ocean La Carte restaurants but so did all the families with small children and there was no attempt to provide a separate area for couples to enjoy an intimate meal. To the point where I sat eating my dinner at 9pm one evening surrounded by toddlers and looking straight at a mother breastfeeding her baby. Come on Daios Dove !! You have such a special hotel. Please look after your grown up guests as well.

Leaving Daios Cove in Crete didn't bring the usual post-vacation joy. The overall experience lacked the finesse expected from a luxury hotel. Service seemed stretched thin across the board. In the restaurants, water was only provided upon request and not refilled, suggesting either understaffing or inadequate training. This theme continued at the beach, where staff appeared overwhelmed, avoiding eye contact and making service requests feel like an inconvenience. Upon arrival, we requested decaffeinated coffee pods and were initially told they were out of stock. It took a reminder two days later to receive just three pods, with no restock following, which was disappointing. The focus on aesthetics, like a leather coffee machine cover, felt misdirected given these basic shortcomings. The room and balcony design was aesthetically pleasing, situated perfectly for those with families, though it lacked the tranquility desired for a relaxing holiday. The adults-only section was not strictly enforced, adding to the noise levels. Only one staff member, Julie, seemed genuinely engaged and attentive. As seasoned travelers accustomed to luxury experiences, we found the lack of attentive service particularly noticeable. The dining experience was mixed; the buffet was mediocre and not up to luxury standards, though the beachside food was a pleasant surprise, offering a much better culinary experience. The gym was well-equipped with a variety of machines, which was a highlight. Transportation to the nearby village was costly at €40 each way, but this fee is paid directly to the taxi service, not the hotel. My attempt to arrange something special for our anniversary went initially unnoticed. Although guest relations did eventually acknowledge my request and provided a lovely cake, a timely response or a gesture at check-in would have been more impactful. Overall, Daios Cove might be suited for those accustomed to 3 or 4-star services but falls short of the 5-star luxury it aspires to provide. The hotel has potential, but significant improvements are needed to meet the expectations of true luxury-seeking guests.

Daios Cove is a paradise on earth .It is without the finest holiday hotel we have ever stayed at . The facilities are second to none , the setting is gorgeous but without any doubt the difference is the staff . Throughout the hotel they are all friendly , welcoming and can't do enough for you . A few special mentions Cyrille the Manager , Augustina in the Ocean restaurant , Julie in the Pangea. We will definitely return !

We love to travel, and it's an unwritten rule that we don't return to the same place twice, EXCEPT DAIOS COVE! We return year after year, and will continue to do so. The private beach, that is REALLY private is clean and calm. Restaurants amazing....all of them. The Residents Club is a MUST have, and every morning our 4 year old is happy to call Georgia for an incredible breakfast, delivered the room to have by our private pool (thanks Georgia, we miss you!!!) Staff, incredible, and treat us like family. (our son still talks about Alex at Ocean). Not the cheapest hotel for sure, but you get what you pay for, and that keeps us coming back! Wonderful place for families....and for couples! See you again soon!
