Always a pleasure to stay at the Savoy Grand in Muscat. It is not grand, but everything works --- AC, fridge and hot water --- the beds are comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. Only 10-15 mins drive from the airport, there is also a city bus from the airport almost to the hotel door. The Bamboo restaurant next door serves an excellent variety of food, and there's a good supermarket 5 mins up the road.

This was definitely a good value for money. Being one of the cheapest hotels in Muscat on offer, you can't really expect too much, but it was quite decent after all. Spacious enough, quite clean, good condition, very good customer service... and at least for me, the location was quite good. Muscat is huge and distances between the different points of interest are sometimes 15-20 km. Savoy Grand is just about 7-8 km from the airport and there's maybe at least 25 km from the old town, the palace, the national museum, Mutrah souq and the port. The hotel is very close to a public bus stop on the main highway that passes from West to East (from the airport to the old part of town). There are multiple shopping malls and places of attraction around that road, so it's really convenient in that sense.

Staff was very friendly, and helpfull. The hotel was cheap and good, but a bit far from main attractions. That should not be a problem though if you don't mind taking the bus.

Some improvements needed painting, tea's should be in their packet, not outside coffee should be provided as well.

A friendly welcome awaited me. I was able to leave my bags at the hotel prior to check in. The room was spacious, clean and cool.
Location wise, there are a number of places to eat and drink nearby and the hotel is close to the main road that runs the length of Muscat which was ideal for catching the bus to the sights.

Good hotel with super nice people working there. Very attentive. Room condition can be little better but that didn't affected my overall experience.

Check in was quick despite arriving late at night. Room was clean, however toilet had an unpleasant smell. Ideal for a one stay. Lift worked fine and took me to my 11th floor hotel bedroom.
