Arin Resort Bodrum

We have just returned from a one week stay booked through Jet2 Holidays. Two adults and our 5 & half month baby. Now, I know that 5* is really broad these days, and considering the amount that we paid, I didn't expect it to be a LUX 5*. However, I'd say this hotel doesn't quite meet the mark. From what I guess, we're still quite early in the season. During our time there, there seemed to be more staff starting and, therefore, service improving - mainly around the pool, drinks orders were being taken and rubbish/empty cups were being collected more frequently. Room - we stayed in room 1004, located near to the lobby. At times, it was a little loud, presumably from people returning in the early hours. The room was clean and towels could be changed daily if needed, although some of these had seen better days - a bit tatty looking. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were very plump though 😂 The TV is located behind a darkened mirror, which seemed a bit strange. Although, we never watch TV in the room anyway. The bathroom was quite dull, the lighting wasn't the best. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are provided. However as far as amenities go, that's it. The taps for the sink were also mismatched and hard to turn. At a 5* I would expect robes, towels in better condition and at least a vanity mirror - call me vain but doing make-up in the evening was difficult 😂 Food - we only ate at the main restaurant & the snack bar. It would have been good to see more Turkish / Mediterranean food served at both places, however I do think most places try and cater to a more 'British' appetite. Food choices were much the same & a little bit boring. At times, service wasn't the best, as 'xHx' has reviewed below, at times it was obvious that the waiting staff had favourites, usually tables of younger gals 🙈 Drinks - cocktails were good, branded spirits are used. It's a shame that drinks are served in plastic, single use cups around the pool & the use of plastic straws too. Could these be changed to reusable plastic cups & paper straws? A lot of resorts seem to be doing this now. Staff - Most of the staff that we encountered were lovely and pleasant. Pool - There's the main pool and a smaller pool. We witnessed these being cleaned daily. Unfortunately, as other people have mentioned, sunbeds were getting 'reserved' really early in the day & not being used until way after lunch time! We did notice that the hotel had started putting signs up about this. Its really annoying, I wouldn't expect this in a 5* hotel. Overall, the resort is clean and has been modernised. Although, the area where the hotel is located is pretty run-down. We did catch the bus into Bodrum, which is lovely. I've attached a picture of where the bus terminal is, you can pay on card on the bus itself. It was around 40TL one way. This was mine and my girlfriend’s first holiday to Türkiye and the hotel itself was lovely to stay in but I must say that the staff are top class! Momo and the rest of the animation team did everything possible to ensure that we were well looked after and did all in their power to ensure that we had an amazing experience in all aspects of our time there. Whether relaxing by the pool or in the evening with the entertainment, my birthday was during the break and special little treats were organised for that. Cant rate the staff and hotel higher!

So I’m hoping this will come across as a balanced and honest view. The reason I say that is because I relied heavily on the reviews on this site before booking the holiday, and for reassurance afterwards and I feel there are a lot of reviews about the Arin Resort that quite frankly led to a bit of disappointment. Firstly the positives because there are some. The spa is fantastic, very good value for money, clean and friendly, this I would absolutely recommend to anyone. The hotel itself is beautiful, it’s clean and the ladies/gent who do the rooms are so lovely and helpful. The food is excellent but they could do a lot better on how you get it, I’ll come onto that later. The taxis are very cheap 5€ into town if you’re not able to walk but it’s only a 15 min walk at most, and 50€ to the airport if you want to ditch the EasyJet shuttle. However be careful booking it l, we were told different prices by the reception staff and, after saying we could pay by card more than once they then decided we couldn’t and we had to be ‘driven’ to cashpoint ! We had a sea view which was in the annex building and the sound and sight of the sea is never disappointing. The walls and ceilings are paper thin with very very noisy neighbours above and on the same floor! We didn’t get much sleep. The area itself is quite run down but this could’ve been because it’s the start of the season? Realistically I never expected a true 5* all inclusive for the price we paid. I’d say 3*, but had hoped for a little more due to the reviews on trip advisor. So the night we arrived it was 1:30am thanks to delays at both airports (badly behaved Brits at both ends !) my freind had hurt her back before travelling so was a little immobile to start with. The reception were welcoming and got us a buggy to our room was. Now bearing in mind we were two ladies travelling alone and the time of night, the Bell Boy refused to leave our room without a tip! I found this really intimidating. I found out from a couple who arrived at the same time as us, theirs did the same but even refused their first amount as it was too small ! The room was quite small for two people, the shower leaked so towels had to be put in the floor for safety. The hairdryer was definitely on its last legs (tip-take your own). There was also no useable mirror in the room, so make sure you pop one in your makeup bag if you like natural light. The beds although small singles were super comfy. The A la cart restaurants are only open 3 days a week, and although they do say to book 24hrs in advance at guest services, they don’t tell you about the limited opening or that guest services do not work on a Sunday, as we only had a week we had no chance of getting into either restaurant. The starlight cocktail bar which I was particularly looking forward to, was a small busy lounge bar with one barman. Just came back from our stay at Arin and it was truly an unforgettable week. The hotel is beautiful. The staff are attentive, friendly and hardworking. The entertainment team were amazing, especially Mo Mo who always tried to get us involved in activities. The guest relations manager Ozlem was really helpful in my surprise proposal as she went above and beyond to make it special. Would definitely return!

A beautiful hotel with an amazing entertainment and tour guide team (BIG shout out to MoMo) who really made us feel welcome and comfortable. In contrast to the bar staff who were not so welcoming and quite rude. BUT all the other staff were really nice and made the stay great!

Lovely hotel very clean spacious, the staff are all so friendly always smiling happy to help. Food was a bit of let down I felt not enough choices meat and fish wise also breakfast no pastries etc very limited. Snack bar excellent menu, midnight snack poor choice salad or soup! Pasta should be made fresh as all cold and congealed not appetising. Drinks and cocktails lovely. Other than food great hotel!

We had the absolute best time at this hotel. Travelled with my friend and as 2 young women we felt extremely safe. On arrival they gave us a double bed room instead of twin beds and moved us immediately, no questions asked. All the staff were extremely helpful and the facilities are all clean and tidy. Free big bottles of water are also a massive plus. When they say all inclusive they really do mean it! Food, drinks, snacks all day - the patisserie is amazing. Full use of the gym, sauna and steam room. Also check out at 12pm is really helpful and you get full use of the facilities until you leave - we didn’t leave until 9pm and made use of everything all day. The starlight bar is beautiful to watch the sunset and sit in the evening. I just want leave a special mention for Orkun behind the bar. He remembered our drinks order and always made sure we were hydrated, ensuring he was there with fresh drinks when we ran out. 100% recommend this hotel. Only thing to consider is the slides are currently shut, didn’t bother us but might be an issue for families.

A beautiful hotel, very clean and the service was amazing. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The food was also very good with plenty of options, which was a plus. It’s a good location and the guest relations manager, Ozlem, really did me a favour by helping me set up a surprise bday cake and room decorations for my husband’s birthday. It was really nice and organised with ease. The hotel staff clearly have a lot of experience as the service was a 10/10 for me. Thank you Arin resort for a great stay

I will start with the positives. A massive hotel with annexe. Spotlessly clean. The staff are always around cleaning. It's beautiful inside. The patisserie/coffee is wonderful, a lovely courtyard to sit and relax in. The street food place in the snack bar has better food than the restaurant, I only wished I'd been told about it sooner! On arrival in the early hrs, I was put in a room in the annexe. It smelt awful, there were dark mould stains on the wall by a bed. The towels smelt the same. The bathroom was so small, you had to go round the door to close it, no shelving for toiletries. The shower tiles were dirty and uneven. The next morning I asked to be moved. I was given the option of 1 room in the main building. The manageress said even at 2pm when guests have checked out there are no other options (not true). Hence I took this room that was offered. She made me wait until 2pm before I could go into the room, despite it was cleaned and ready! I spoke to my jet2 rep, who spoke with her on the phone ( not in English). She said I wasn't prepared to wait until 2pm for a choice of rooms. Rubbish.. she made me wait until 2pm before I could go in the one room she offered! The rep said it was a language miscommunication!!. The bedrooms need updating especially the bathrooms they are a let down. Food in the main restaurant is repetitive, not much choice for a veggie or vegan, salad, rice, pasta repeat! The sunbeds are taken everyday by people who never turn up to go on them. All towels should be taken off and thrown in a pile. The beach is pleasant and only across the road. There is very little to do here apart from a half hour walk into the town, if you have mobility issues it's not for you. Most hotels and snack bars are being knocked down or renovated which makes the area look dirty. I wouldn't want to return at any time. There is simply nothing in the area. If you have children, then I would book elsewhere, there is nothing for them. As I say, it's a beautiful hotel unfortunately the location is a let down as are the rooms. I can't praise the hotel staff enough for all their hard work on cleaning and providing a good service to you, apart from the manageress..
