After having not been to Tulum in 20+ years, I was stoked to still find a chill eco-spot like this amidst the madness of "luxury" and it did not disappoint. We stayed in Maria Felix and it was up high and set back, so it felt very private. We never even heard our downstairs neighbors. The room and large terrance were so comfy that we never wanted to leave! The view and sound of the ocean are to die for. There is a mosquito net, however, it doesn't really do anything but "look cute". They also supply a cooler, purified water and ice (at reception!). The bathroom was on the other side of the (outdoor) landing. We had hot water a couple times, but no matter. There was also a storm, and we had a wee-bit of a flood in both rooms (Palapas, yo). It was kinda funny and exciting! The beach club is on the smaller side and we were able to get a spot every day without issue. They save them for guests up until 11AM. If you are an early riser in Tulum? The world is your oyster. We didn't eat anything (Italian on a hot beach didn't make sense for us!), but the guys who were waiting on everyone were SUPER cool. They were slammed (Xmas) and I had to fend for myself a bit while they served big groups with big monies! By the end of our stay, the guys were practically homies. The staff of the entire place was AWESOME. The reception workers, housekeeping, security, the grounds-guys... everyone just RULED. *********However, for the love of god, pay for your room BEFORE you get there. We were asked to pay with CASH (ffs!) or Paypal... but PP couldn't "find" the owners email address. My card immediately put a delay on the transaction and then at my second attempt to pay (AFTER FOUR DAYS OF TRYING), my card was blocked by Visa. It was SO STRESSFUL... until they finally sent me a pay request hours before we were checking out, and of course, it worked. Thank goodness I had an additional credit card with me. Could have just paid the first day.*********** PLEASE, Mrs Hotel Esperanza, PLEASE get a legit email address for your legit business. And get a credit card machine (for RECEPTION!) to go with the hotel name, and not "beach club". I love your staff for being so patient in trying to figure all of it out. But I was freaked out the entire stay due to this. We will definitely be back as long as places like this still exist in Tulum.
