Lekjon Cottage

Depends on what you are looking for, this cottage is very basic but it has no AC, no hot water, no cable TV. On our first night there was a group of other guests who was partying and singing karaoke until 3AM and our next door neighbor blasting their music so loud. We complained the manager but did not reply until the next morning and apologized because he/she already gone to bed. The room posted no cooking but guests would bring and cook their own food starting at 5 AM. They even started karaoke around 7.30AM. Even though, it lists airport transfer, they do not arrange it for us. Instead they provided a number to a driver and told us to arrange the transfer ourselves. They also lists tours but when we went ahead asked the front desk, he escorted us out to the restaurant to try to find somebody who will arrange it. Instead, we went to a different hotel and they were more than happy to arrange a tour for us. Breakfast menu was very limited to only local food (fried rice and fried noodle) and only toast for the western portion of the breakfast. Requested a fried egg, fruit slices and toast and we were told that only toast with jam is available. There are other options in the area with better service.

Lovely hotel, popped in for coffee and decided to stay here for few more days. Spacious room with clean bedding, sheets and a hot water. A kettle was provided when requested. Room service was available. We had a balcony overlooking the lake. Staff very friendly and helpful with excellent English. Just call me "Jeff" the Manger was particularly helpful. Food was amazing and always cooked from fresh. Freshly ground Sumatra coffee and cold Bintang always available.

Tijdens de fietstocht zagen we dit restaurant en besloten hier de avond te gaan eten. Het restaurant is ‘open’, dus je zit buiten, en er is ook nog een overdekt terras. Het is zo lokaal dat de lieve dame die ons bediende haar zus erbij moest halen voor de Engelse taal, en inderdaad spraak haar zus erg goed Engels. Alle vragen over het menu werden beantwoord, en we kregen prima advies. Op verschillende plaatsen in Indonesie wilden we al sate eten en dat was lang niet overal mogelijk, hier werden de satetjes speciaal voor ons gemaakt. We werden prima geholpen waarna versterking naar de keuken ging om alles vers te klaar te maken. We hebben uiteindelijk heerlijk gegeten, alles was heet en lekker van smaak. Dit was echt zoals we lokaal eten in Indonesie voorstellen waarbij de klantvriendelijkheid en bereidheid alles voor je te doen heel speciaal waren. Ik raad dit restaurant zeker aan! We zijn de volgende avond weer naar dit restaurante geweest, met de dezelfde ervaring. Een goud team wat daar werk en heerlijk eten klaarmaakt, met de Indonesische gastvrijheid.
